  1. What's the route and/or hill with the most ascent and also the most technical? Looking for around a 40k distance trail run route for the Otter or a hill to do repeats on.
  2. Got sick before Num-Num last year but still keen on it, maybe next year. PAX as well.
  3. Groenkloof and Kings Kloof
  4. Doing my 1st race of the year on Sunday - Diamond Dash. Saturday Groenies and Monday Kings if anyone is keen. Looking to run about 3 hours, around 7:30m/k.
  5. Right as I'm doing the RETTO I'm looking for some Pretoria/JHB based training partners for long trail runs. Anyone?
  6. Kevin Evans @kevinevansracin ACE stage 6, Oak Valley loop, 85km, 1800m. 1600 switchbacks. 1599 for me;) Reminds me of JZ - " I got 99 problems but the switchbacks aint one"
  7. Haha it's much more of a workout for a short time period but mostly I'm attracted by not having to faff with my bike endlessly, washing and replacing stuff all the time. Just take gear and go run.
  8. Still lots I want to run, was entered for Num-Num last year but got ill close to the race and skipped it. The Cradle Mayhem stage race is the furthest I've done. May possibly do Retto this year....
  9. The 50k is sold out though, but there's still space in the 20k if anyone is keen. Nice little climb up Pofadder and a 3k switchback decent
  10. Hi all Seeing as I'm doing much more trail running these days than riding I thought I'd start a dedicated thread. So who else here is a keen trail runner? Cheers, WW.
  11. Friend of mine's was nicked in Potch last night. Will get more details but should be a small size 29'er. Please be on the lookout and let me know if you spot one somewhere or for sale looking dodgy. Thanks, WW.
  12. Rant on Guests (or my mother) trying to tell me how I should make coffee get me riled up. Every time. Or people that ask for a "gewone koffie". Dafuq is that!? They can bring their own instant next time! Rant off.
  13. A Nuova Simonelli Oscar, yes.
  14. Hi All Found this JR in groenies today. He's at the guys in groenies that are looking after him, but would love to find his owners. Quite an old dog, very calm, was wet and didn't want to eat or drink when we found it. Wasn't thin but had some 'wounds" / hair loss on its bottom. Any leads would be great. Thanks, WW.
  15. Take out the PF and remove the screw that holds the shower screen in. Take screw out and screen off. Then there's a brass piece that sits there that should come off. You can see the gasket around this inside the grouphead. Try clean everything nicely. Otherwise your gasket could be damaged or hardened and causing a leak. I damaged mine taking it out to clean it so leaking more. Still need to replace it. Couldn't get the gasket out without damaging it by prying it out so if cleaning doesn't work I'd take it out and replace it.
  16. Would be sad if things go south, my experience with them has been very positive and I still prefer them above other brands.
  17. Glad you are OK Alton. Mate of mine was riding in the same area recently and they walked out from the bushes on the middelman and pulled off a shot into the ground in front of him. He proceeded to charge them with the mtb and got away but could have ended badly. Think it's best to avoid the area for now.
  18. Tisk tisk. The Rules strictly forbid this.
  19. Kief video on cafe design

  21. Rouxtjie - Check out the Porlex hand grinder as well, great for Aeropress and folds up to travel. The Krupps grinds more than fine enough to choke my Oscar, but it's slow and inconsistent and clumpy. Think the Porlex would be more even and less clumpy but others could advise.
