Lekker great you got it! There is a spring that needs to go in a groove in the the PF first before the baskets go in, take it you didn't put it in? If the grinds are fine like salt but not clumping like wet sand you are in the ballpark. I found the double basket to need about 18g on the Oscar, tried weighing 14 but doesnt work. Fast flow with wet puck. Fill the basket so it's heaped then use the NSEW method to flatten it and tamp. There's a ridge in the basket right below which the coffee bed should be when tamped if it's filled right. Your tamper top of the bottom part should be flush with the basket top when tamped. Timing officially starts when you press the button but I go from start of flow. Main thing is to check for an even pour so you know grind and tamp is right and stop as it blondes, nevermind the time.

I've bought and made Illy myself, don't like the taste. But my gripe comes with it being touted as such superior coffee and costs so much, but it's roasted in Italy, and then sealed and shipped here and sits on a shelf for a long time before I buy and use it so it's old by the time I want to make coffee with it. Also blends aren't my favourite. There are great local roasters offering fresh coffee at way better prices. I use an Illy jar lid upside down for a coaster and the tin to hold my coffee accessories in the cupboard haha.

Illy to me is old, stale, overpriced coffee.

I just drink Rooibos if I want a hot drink. It's not easy making great coffee but really the average cup is so bad it's shocking. It really should be higher, but then again with a Jakobs coffee nation that is unlikely to change very soon...

Some places would do much better coffee that way. Flip I've had some terrible coffee! Best is the place next to Troisport using the ESE pods

I was there, just came back from a trail run there to the parking lot to find the ambulance, cops etc. Wasn't a lekker sight. Apparently the guy had an epileptic fit and and they brought him down to the main road but the paramedics could unfortunately not get him resuscitated.

Lekker two more Oscars getting out there! Getting used to versus what? You can change the tip if you want but if you've never used a machine of this class yet it can feel overpowering. Versus a Linea it's barely a cough. Milk heats quickly if you only steam enough for one cup, so you don't have much time to get air in before having to incorporate it into the milk. The knob allows you to control the steam power so it's not just on/off. My only gripe would be that the tip can be a bit short for only a little bit of milk to get it properly submerged and also a bit strong for that, but for a big cup or 2 small cups you are fine.

Ja really "an attack"? Guess the Camelhorse tried to bike jack them You're in nature and screwing with a big bull, predictable result. Hope they realise this and don't want to do anything to the bull.

Great still love it no issues! Still get the odd coffee wrong and need to buy a proper grinder just been lazy. I am however not finding coffee I really like or that's fresh but will keep trying different varietals

Renay, who I think the OP is referring to, hasn't ridden many WC XCO races AFIK so realistically top 50 is a good result. Phillip is there, he just needs a bit of time and more experience abroad. He's done what, one season focusing on XCO doing WC races? Look at Burry's initial races, he was all over the show. It takes time plying your trade on the WC circuit to get anywhere, same as road racers needing to hit euro land to get that racing experience. With that experience come UCI points and ranking so you can start toward the front. With the courses as they are you are going to have to work REALLY hard to make up so many places to finish well if you start at the back with all that singletrack. Our guys don't race WC much so don't have a good ranking so have to contend with crashes in the pack, sitting behind riders etc and are exhausted as they need to gas it to pass everyone. IMO with the interest in marathons here and the lack of XCO races and interest and participation in them together with very little experience on the WC XCO circuit how can we expect to have our riders up there? We are actually doing very well (taking above into consideration) with promising U23 talent, just hope they nurture them into the elites well. Worlds is also one race, if you screw up that's it, versus a WC season where you get more chances.

We've done about 8K on the Jura F50 with no real issues

I would just like to point out my 26" Stan's Podium MMX alu wheels are still 50g lighter B) But seems these should ride way better etc.
