  1. Are you a Bike Hub Plus member, contributing financially to the development of the site?
  2. I risked it last year with no knee-pads, only because I couldn't afford any at the time. Thankfully I managed to keep the rubber on the ground, but it was scary. Those rocks at Conties are pretty sharp.
  3. Hasn't been announced yet. Black Rhino is definitely in, then maybe go check out last years route. https://www.strava.com/activities/2436253099
  4. "What about Lousa? Don't hold your breath. Yesterday the Portuguese Government announced that gatherings will be limited to five people following the resurgence of COVID infections across Europe. The measures will come into force on Thursday and, with rounds three and four of the World Cup series scheduled to happen in two weeks' time in Lousa, it looks increasingly likely that Maribor will now start and end the World Cup season."
  5. Retirement
  6. What is the RRP on a set of M1900's?
  7. Touch VPN Chrome extension set to France seems to work. Can't comment on the download speed though.
  8. Just dropped in for round 2...and takes 55th spot. 20 seconds up on Velasco and 22 seconds back on Minnaar. Saffa boys did us proud
  9. *withdrawn
  10. Theo was having a solid run. Looks like he crashed in the last section of track.
  11. I meant the first guy to drop in, Tenev the Bulgarian got passed by 3 riders. Sharjah did well, only 10 seconds behind Niko Velasco (looks like Niko lost almost 10 seconds before the first split though).
  12. Garlicki didn't start. Warrappen?
  13. Passed by 3 riders, shame.
  14. Sharjah dropping
  15. Looks like the first elite is about to get over taken by the second, Pedro Burns.
  16. Am I the only one frothing for a 34T paired with Shimano's 12s 10-45 cassette? The easiest gear is close enough (a touch easier) than my 32T-42t 11 speed, which can be hard work at times but that only makes you stronger.
  17. Kendon Sharp? With the Allan Gray lycra? He dropped in after the last rider and quickly realised that neither his fingers nor his brakes were working. His words: "By God's grace there was a dude who had ripped off his gears (derailleur), so I had to walk down with him". On closer inspection of his wife's bike later that day, I found that the entire fork lowers, front brake caliper & hub were completely covered in fork oil considering that he isn't I rider, I was actually super impressed when he made it all the way down Stage 5 on the e-bike we were using for route marking the day before.
  18. Bos, I was also hoping that the results were wrong. Some ripper kid on a Blur finished in front of me. Nick, we're pretty lucky that the timing worked out in the end. 3 of the 4 timers didn't pitch up on the day, so I had to call in some last minute favours while I was trying to register everyone. None of them had ever used the timing app before, so it's actually a mini miracle Thermophage. You gave us a big fright by giving us a timing sheet that had missing formula's. Luckily you were there to fix your own mistakes Then the timer at the end of stage 3 managed to assign everyone's time to the person who finished next. Was a mess, but stoked it all worked out in the end.
  19. That makes sense why the other photos by this journalist were blurry, but yours was so clear it made the feature pic
  20. Jew, did you see that your kids bike made the feature pic of our local newspaper article? https://www.georgeherald.com/sport/article/Other/witfontein-funduro-mtb-202009301245
  21. Thinking about making it a precursor to the EWC series, a practice race. 21st of March or 25th of April. Will confirm once the EWC dates are announced.
  22. Thank you Nick. Sickest day I've had on the bike in a long time. So stoked that we were able to make the whole thing happen. Bringing an event to our locals is one thing, but seeing guys from our of town so stoked on our trails, just makes the effort all the more worthwhile.
  23. Here are all the photos from the day, courtesy of Deidre Cloete. High(er) resolution than the Faceook images. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1he1YUSDl67wLYxUrJa_M2L4tE_wtphyB?usp=sharing
  24. We're stoked that we had the opportunity to share our loam with so many 'Witfontein virgins'. Here's a link to Deidre Cloete's Facebook page, where she shares pretty much all the photos she takes: https://www.facebook.com/dkachelhoffer She doesn't sell them, for some reason.
