  1. There's 2 or 3 high consequence doubles, the biggest being about 8m with a semi-blind landing. All will be easily avoidable though.
  2. It looks like we might be able to get some formal timing happening for the Witfontein Funduro 2020. That means everyone will need to register ahead of time using the form below. We'll still recommend recording on Strava as a backup though, just in case the timing goes pear-shaped on the day. https://forms.gle/G1H9eZZrzBizxQa76
  3. The first three stages will be all blue trails and the final two are black. There will be a few gaps and drops that you might want to scope beforehand, most of which will have B-lines. It's hard to say 'how gnarly the trails are', without knowing your skill level. They're not double-black.
  4. Thanks guys. It's going to be siiick looks like we may be able to rope together some volunteer timing marshals...so things just stepped up a notch.
  5. With the Enduro Western Cape series being disrupted this year due to COVID, local trail rider, architectural professional, husband and father, Chris Barrett decided to take things into his own hands. Click here to view the article
  6. I had the same issue last week. It went away on it's own a few hours later. Try log out, close the app, reopen and log back in.
  7. You only have to be a bank client for new activations. You haven't received cash back for the last few months because Virgin Active haven't been charging you for your monthly membership, while they are closed under lockdown.
  8. Just got off the phone with them. It took 25 minutes of holding to be told that there are Healthy Food and Healthy Care amounts owed to me for April and they will log a query to find out why it wasn't paid...not holding thumbs though, I logged a different query 6 weeks ago about why my pension document wasn't acknowledged, thus pulling my money status from silver down to bronze...still no response or action. It's actually ridiculous that you can't mail them or at least request a call back.
  9. Did anyone else not get their Healthy Living cash back for April? Mine usually comes around 23rd of the month, and still nothing. I definitely did have enough qualifying spend
  10. #backyardbikechecks Trek Fuel EX 8 (2018) Pretty stock standard except for the following: -Maxxis Minnion DHR II Wide Trail (EXO on the front & EXO+ on the rear) -Sram GX 11 speed shifter & derailleur running the original Eagle drivetrain (downgrade after I destroyed the 12 speed RD) -Some inner tube dropper protection -Marshguard & some organized cables -DMR Deathgrips in need of replacement -Fizik Tundra saddle -And finally some weight savings in the form of paint removal
  11. Keep the cassette clean, rotate chains after 500km and sit and spin in a larger cog rather than stand and crank in a smaller cog...or just ride how you like and accept that 11k is fine.
  12. Nice. I recently bought the Quaxar Sram Edge bleed kit from Evo Bikes for R225, got a litre of dot 5.1 fluid from Midas for R100 and custom made a bleed block from a bunch of old used pads. Works a charm.
  13. I bought the K-Traze Amp (Zip) knee pads without trying them on. Measured above and below the knee which put me squarely in a size large. I have to fasten the top strap a bit on the tight side to keep them up. Left me wondering if a medium would have been better.
  14. Sounds like your wallet has something to gain, judging by how hard you're fighting this without any counter evidence. Anyway, if the XX1 & XO1 chains were sapping power because of the super tight tolerances not allowing much Ceramic Speed super lube to get to the roller/pin interface in a lab environment, then perhaps out on the trails with regular old Squirt Lube, the opposite would be true by those same tolerances not allowing dirt & grit in???
  15. Don't you know when you do your R1000+ grocery shopping each week, you must pay every time the total goes over R50? And you put R50 petrol in twice a day, instead of R700 for the whole week.
  16. Over 3 hours, assuming you can average around 300w, that puts you about 2 minutes behind.
  17. No, this is where we are heading... https://www.pinkbike.com/news/shimano-gearbox-in-the-works-files-patents-on-hybrid-roller-chain-sequential-shifting-transmission.html https://www.bikeradar.com/news/shimano-gearbox/
  18. According to this guy, XX1 & XO1 chains get you the same mileage, so that means XO1 is the best bang for your buck. Also according to this guy, XX1 & XO1 rob you of about 3watts because of the extra coatings leading to super tight tolerances, so probably not the best for race day if you're super competitive. https://cyclingtips.com/2019/12/the-best-bicycle-chain-durability-and-efficiency-tested/
  19. My bad. Was talking about Orange Seal, not Enduro Seal.
  20. With only being on the Health Active Rewards, I used to get on average R30-40 worth of vouchers per week, which meant I could add R100 to my Sportsmans Warehouse gift card every 3 weeks. Now only earning on average R17.50 per week, I can only get a R100 voucher every 5 or 6 weeks. So in one year of VAR, I am only earning R900 instead of R1800 that I earned previously.
  21. I got a mate to bring some over from the states a year ago. It's expensive and dries out pretty quickly. I would recommend Stans 'Race' sealant over Enduro Seal.
  22. I noticed the same. Earned a whopping R17.50 for last week's effort.
  23. I just switched a week ago. No more miles multiplier. The benefits are now in the form of "Dynamic Discounts", ie. percentages of cash back paid in discovery miles. On the platinum discovery card / diamond vitality level I was earning base miles at 1 per R15, plus 10x booster. Now on Discovery Bank platinum credit card / silver money status, I am only earning base miles at 1 per R50 on all purchases and then an extra 10.5% back on HealthyLiving items only, and 6.5% on fuel.
