ANOTHER great morning at FUN Gaalen.... I think it could very well have been the last of the "not so bad" mornings as far as the cold goes.. soon, all sunrise starts will be cold AF. Not many people are aware that the trails at VG cross around 35 properties... it's a real privilege to have the permission of the farmers/land owners to be able to ride here. The river trail never isn't awesome and is still the (Pulled out my Versus Banana socks from under my betamax for today's ride... still my fav of all of Versus' funky designs)

Van Gaalen... rode some new and some older trails I haven't been on in years.. There was a trail run (what a ridiculous thing to do instead of play bike) on and Erik let us start ahead of the runners to ride trails that are not normally accessible. Tough ride, well for me at least, fair bit of portaging and rather technical in places. Spent longer out there than I was planning to but had a great ride nonetheless. Rode past what I can only describe as a vulture "restaurant".. had to stop for snaps.

So awesome you two!!! Can't wait till I can do with this with my little guy

Today... is NBD NEW.BIKE.DAY.... Not for me, but a friend... After a stint on a plus sized bike last weekend the desire for one was just TOO much. Seldom do these things play out so quick, 29er sold on Monday.. new 27.5+ ordered Monday, collected Friday Great first ride at FUN Gaalen his new love Plus Sized cousins

I use one when riding, well not as big as these, but it's water proof-ish, for my phone, car key and money. Fits under my shirt and Works a charm for me... IF I used it pr perly!! Took my phone out on Saturday , nearing the end of a ride and took a tumble into a river without replacing the phone... phone subsequently died... A ride's not over till it's over..... anyway I digress, I think there's a place for them.. I ride fanny-fied

I had ANOTHER (can you believe it!?!) fah-lippen amazingness filled morning at FUN Gaalen!!!! A mate was "testing" a Levo for eff of it, the other was on a 6 Fattie Stumpie Expert that he bought after also "testing" a Levo and falling in love with plus size wheels, the other on a Camber and me on my now sooooooooo much in love with plus sized wheeled beast.. The "testing" has resulted in much debate and advice on how quick a bike can be sold ...... in order to obtain a plus sized wheel beast A rare occasion I was up for being in a pic....(with instructions ) close to the end of ride, I unceremoniously, by a nad hair, clipped a tree while flying back on the river..(in the 9 years at VG I've never been in that river unwillingly...) had a rough tumble... bike's ok though... but my iPhone died so if any one can help..... see https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/167885-salvaging-iphone-info-after-death/

Been a busy weekend.... didn't get to ride on Saturday because it was someone's first birthday... and because someone flippen owns me.. EVERYTHING revolved around him!(not that he'd know or care... more the family one pleases I guess) but THIS DUDE!! We played bikes today... at home with his and a quick spin at Hobby Park with mine

When you take your mate out to test an Ebike... but he hardly uses the "E" part of the bike and still sticks with you...on a TWENTY FIVE KILOGRAM bike ... you need to ride more!! (Also,as you've always suspected, your mate is not human!!) Yet another superb day on the trails at FUN Gaalen!! My beast and I catching our breath after chasing the Levo (one of the few times the "E" was engaged")

Another stellar day at FUN Gaalen.... Today I noticed/saw something for the first time.. I've ridden past here 100's of times, obviously faster than today.. a dry riverbed with the surrounding trees' roots like sculptures in it. (my bike is a speck in distance ) The root of all that's FUN!!!! for those of you familiar with VG, you'll notice the change... Here the start of the river trail has a new,super cool, railway themed, bridge

One of the farm dogs at FUN Gaalens, Pukkie, started following us on our ride as we started this morning... the following didn't stop as full on traildog mode was engaged... 5kms later I started getting paranoid for the fearless creature's safety, I didn't know how long this would last and we were planning on heading to baboon territory ... so we turned back.. an 8km loop later, Pukkie was safely back at VG and we carried on with what became yet another awesome ride! That 8km loop must've been like running a full marathon with those little legs
