Prompted by the Trail Daze article (https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/articles/routes-trails/trail-daze-down-by-the-river-r4448) fellow hubber, BDF, asked for a bit of a show around VG. BDF and my mate An absolutely beautiful morning I decided to show him around most of the trails start points but focus on the River. It's been a while since I been on (almost) all of the River's trails in one day. I told him to pack his wide face for the ride..to fit the smile.. FUN Gaalens didn't disappoint... we did well over 20kms of amazing singletrack alone. AWESOME ride today!

If only all Mondays could start like this.... Quick, SUPER FUN, spin at Hobby Park before work The Easter Bunny was also there for a last hello till next year

Took my little guy Django for a walk at Hobby Park... Didn't get to ride... But at least got to see the trails and the joy of him losing his mind with excitement

Showed a couple hubbers, The Nerd and Flippa and their super sweet bikes, around VG this morning. "Flippa'n" awesome ride!! They drove 100km to get to VG ( and 100 back home) thanks for the effort guys and for joining.

Good Friday Ride Day with mates and their boys at Hobby Park. The young guys did so well and were knackered at the end, riding there from home and back but had loads of fun. Need to start getting used to this later sunrise nonsense again New floating bridge as the rains destroyed the previous one One simply cannot ride at Hobby and not go to the top of the ridge

super ..... SUPER (read A LOT!!!!!) jealous of anyone who got to ride in the Big Smoke today!! ....(don't know what the rest of the country was like, couldn't be bothered to check) I, at least, got to ride to work... around sunrise time.. but today, is quite possibly one of the most beautiful weather days I have EVER seen!! Trails everywhere were calling my name!

FUUUUUUUUUN Gaalens With all the rain this week, I was expecting a bit of a mud fest, but even though there was a lot, nothing serious. The river and dams are all beautifully full. A very foggy start but cleared up beautifully later on... here a little MTB trailside assistance/comradery going on this pic was taken going through Tant Miems Anyone who knows the Tannie, knows this pic does her no justice. SOOO much flow and fun.. an absolutely stunning and super fun part of VG's trails Then almost bumped into this little dude while flying on the river trail, moved him out the way.. just hope in the right direction of where he was going to and not back to where he came from

FUN Gaalens....... Decided to try something new and mix up the routes in a different way today and also ride some I haven't in ages... I haven't been up the Pomphuis and mine way in over 3 years. WHAT.AN.AWESOME.RiDE!!!!! soooooo much of fun!!

Phambili is indeed the highlight of the trails there... Super fun stuff (albeit that the evil dam still lures me into wanting to spend hours there to take a 1000 photos!)

Left the 'burbs while the lights were being switched on.... Headed to what at times feels like the middle of nowhere... yet it's only 2kms from home,in the middle of lots going on Hero at Hobby Park.... just keeps getting better and better They weren't really tired... but the bikes decided to take in the view lying down

Thaba ... been a couple years since I set tread on these trails... They're just as awesome as, possibly even better than, I remember.. Wendell's done a stellar job! Anyway... I headed South yesterday morning with a couple mates to meet up with Sean Badenhorst for a skills clinic... brilliant morning out! I highly recommend it to everyone! Didn't have much chance to take many pics of my own so apologies if these aren't too clear, I got them all whatsapp'ily...

Ahhhh... the Cradle MTB loop... what a bit of nice! ESPECIALLY the section from Bidon Bistro down to the next circle.. soooooo much flow.. just seems to get better and better!

Sticking to my plan of trying to ride trail venues other than my regular ones from time to time, I went to Northern's this morning. The ride matched the weather.... great morning! Really fun ride! Whoever's responsible for the trails... well done and stellar job , keep it up! Did a mixture of red and black on the SSR... except for a couple of sections where singing the chorus to "Hey Jude" would've cost me my tongue, bike was perfectly suited. next, I'm going to make a plan to fit Thaba in.
