My mates went to Buffelsdrift a month ago and told me that it's "amazing/awesome/sooooooooooooo goooooood" and ......better than Van Gaalens ( ) Something that's not possible imo, so we eventually got round to going there today (it's not quite "around the corner")... fortunately missing the rain, just a bit of drizzle here and there, for me to check out this nonsensical statement and for my mate to put his new SC Hightower to the test. The guys at Buffels have done an absolutely stellar job, so much flow and fun ... the trails are excellent! definitely worth the trip well done to them and keep up the amazing work (It's not Van Gaalens though..... but that just me )

After weeks of planning a trip out to Buffelsdrift (my mates are adamant to prove to me it's better than VG ) Everybody's bikes got flu, TB and Ebola last night... So I decided to stay home, spend some daddy time with my little guy then had a massive mug of nostalgia and just did a quick local spin around my 'dorp (haven't been through these gates in almost 25 years )

Having really limited time to ride today, I opted for local. Couldn't do Hobby because of the Warrior event there this weekend... so I went to Heia for the first time in a VERY long time... Glad I did and glad I got it out of my system ( I have a deep rooted dislike for Scrooge and was adamant to support Hero without him seeing any of my Randelas... I got it right ) quick rant before I share my pics... Like, RocknRolla...I won't be back. Scrooge has absolutely wrecked the trails and thusly the place for me It''s like it was Disneyland before he arrived on the scene... then he came..and broke all the rides, blew up the castle, killed Mickey Mouse...while Minnie watched and got Kanye West to redo "It's a small world" with Justin Bieber. (some more clouds pics for Uni)

So proud!!! Met Eben and Lynne almost a decade ago ... Quickly evolved from a client/shop owner relationship to something a lot of more special ... Family like! Would've loved to have been at the launch!

Just a quick commute to work yesterday late afternoon/early evening. Was really good to get some air into the lungs after a whirlwind week

My "mates" went riding ... without me They tried out Buffelsdrift for the first time But I couldn't go due to obligations https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/155246-im-getting-a-new-riding-buddy/ However I just had to share what they did .... They still had a beer with "me" after the ride... (with the cigar they gave me at the hospital on Wednesday night ) I'm very fortunate to have amazing friends They got some really nice pics while out there

No riding today ... Work doodies.... But I did get to experience what is almost as good as riding a bike.... (sometimes... Just as good, to me) Seeing a bike shiny clean

Due time constraints, my mates and I sadly gave Fun Gaalens a miss and rode closer to home... Quick spin through Avianto's Phambili trail at sunrise then onto some of the Cradle MTB loop .... My last ride for (I hope not too long) a while... Apparently I'm going to be quite busy..... a new human arrives on Thursday.
