  1. Another wet weekend at FUN Gaalens..... but as always great fun. Was sceptical about taking my new addition out only to be wrecked by mud... but I was itching so badly I hoped the tiny bits of sun we had yesterday would help..... and it (sort of) did. Trails weren't bad at all but then caught in a huge downpour just after this was taken, fortunately it wasn't too bad, mud wise ... just very wet..
  2. So..... this happened today..... Somehow, somewhere I must've done some really good things in my life for karma to shine down on me this way Picked up this stunning beast today... SOOOOO stoked!
  3. A new little section at FUN Gaalens this morning ... Erik's called it "Loopy" ... very appropriate! It's a little mad! Not long but rather technical. The ups are very hard work, lots of pushing on my part and I didn't/don't have the skills nor the nads for a fair bit of the down. FUN nonetheless!!!
  4. Glad he's ok!
  5. Folks have just come back from visiting relatives in Aus... scored a luck with a few $ as a Christmas pressie from my Gran got them to pick me up one of these which is cool ... but not as cool as what my cousin sent for my little guy... HAD to share!
  6. Not a bad place to have to go "again"
  7. Took a cruiSSe through the Cradle.. this section, from Kloofzicht down to the next circle, is still one of the best bits of ST for me! Cradle was buzzing this morning... but there must've been something in the air... I have NEVER been greeted by or been greeted back by so many roadies, EVER Also, I managed to make it through my ride with stealing anyone's gloves this week.
  8. What's the basic-est of IDT I'd need to join you Zwifters?
  9. Thanks Edge
  10. The plan:- Brave treacherous weather conditions at FUN Gaalens and ride the trails Common sense intervened and that plan was changed to a chilled pedal to Harties instead. Here a pair of very relaxed Cambers are rested against the Triumphal Arch that was built over the Dam wall to provide structural mass to the wall's water retaining strength. Above the arch is a Latin inscription, reading "Dedi in deserto aquas fulmina in invio " which means "I shall pour down rain on the thirsty land and showers on the dry ground" Which couldn't be more appropriate today. From the other side of the tunnel
  11. The best way at the best place to end the year off..... a morning filled with FUN(gaalens) Happy New Year and all the best for 2017 Hubbers...

  16. A trio of Cambers ready to tackle the trails at Buffelsdrift this morning
  17. Far from a "skadoik"... But you would've still murdered us on post office bike if you were on one! I wasn't paying attention to notice to the "puddle cleaning" trick #pimpysocksftw
  18. definitely!! That mud racked up a proper repair bill for me
  19. An absolute ripper of a ride at FUN Gaalens this morning ... new bridges the canopy of the cooler river trail provided much relief on a scorching morning...
  20. so the sun chooses THIS weekend to show it's face down there !!
  21. Thanks dude
  22. Thanks Gen They are incredible indeed! amazing people.
  23. On Saturday we went to Karkloof... the flow you always get told /read about is massively understated! It's a pity it was as wet as it was, as I can only imagine how you could fly down these trails! I'll definitely be coming back to the midlands again to ride.. but in winter. The mud pomped us good and proper
  24. One of our friends is immigrating to Cape Town next month, so I planned a riding weekend to Howick/Karkloof for us as a farewell for him. The hub is filled with amazing people and we were fortunate to not only meet, but get a guided show around the Howick MTB club's trails on Friday by Chainsaw and Blondonabike, thanks so much you two! it'd been raining heaps and still was on Friday, but that did nothing to dampen any spirits... WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!! The trails are amazing! We "only" did a 30km ride, but as we soon found out 1 midlands km is not the same 1 Jozi km So much of fun and flow!
  25. LOVE!!! that first pic
