  1. Mine is nicer
  2. Cool photos. So, its safe to say that Lance mania is stronger than ever?
  3. I am 1.8 and ride a medium with a 110mm stem. The standover on the large was too high. I think you will be just right for a med. frame. Awesome bike by the way.

  5. Very nice machine. And shoes. Many happy and safe miles.
  6. My opinion. Sell the Trek and keep the Scott. Trek is very dated, while the Scott hasn't changed. Reality: Have you ridden either? How do they feel and which one fits you better?
  7. Oh, Stop it!
  8. Its def. on my wanted list. Along with the new Ultegra. drool...
  9. None of these methods and formulae take into account your shoes or pedals (stack height) and how cushy your saddle and shorts are. Saddle height should also be done in conjuction with fore and aft adjustments - and that will be affected by the ratio of your upper leg to lower leg lengths. Rule of thumb is the straight line from knee to pedal etc. These are all starting points and a proffessional bike fitter the adjusts from there.
  10. Bit it can get you up to 8 insurance quotes...
  11. Olympics are lighter. 355's were reccommended for heavier and harder riders.
  12. Awesome machine. Congrats and enjoy!
  13. I ride the MK 2.2" UST. I weigh 100kg and ride a dual suss. I pump mine to 2.0 front and 2.2 rear. Personal preference should influence your final decision.
  14. = The dogs danglies = The mutts nuts = the dogs bollocks = the bees knees = the cat's pyjamas = excellent = the highest quality etc
  15. Hi micheal Welcome to The Hub. 17 pages about W.E. and his shop here: https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=54524&PN=1
  16. Who did your set-up? They should have told you what length crank arm is right for you.
  17. Your training depends on a few factors Like how fit you are now? What time are you aiming for? and that sort of thing. I know guys who just throw in a few longer rides (120, 140, & 160km) and they are good to go. For me, the 120km training ride is something to build up to! Train with your team as much as possible. Make sure that team tactics are clear and you all have the same goals etc. It is a team event and a cohesion on the day is definitely a good thing. eg Some teams only meet each other on the start line - 3 guys bugger off at pace and no one knows that 3 okes stopped to fix a puncture 20km ago, 4 decide to wait and everyone is frustrated. Or you get groups where no one can hold a line or constant speed, let alone set up a pace line of any sorts and it ends up being an individual time trial. Good luck and enjoy. Its a great event and really nice course.
  18. Isn't that what things cost at the Epic anyway?
  19. If I was able to get some nice new wheels, I would go Hope Pro II hubs with ZTR 355 disc rims and DT Comp (or Supercomp) spokes with brass nipples). For a bit of bling, you could colour code the hubs and alu nipples. (But you get durability problems with alu nipples, I hear). Mavic wheels look great, but you often hear of freehub body problems. Spokes are expensive and parts are often not available. If you import the wheels, you also have no local warranty back-up.
  20. Hasn't he previously been invited? Grandstand couldn't afford all his rock star demands...
  21. similar thread here: http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=61439
  22. The new Ultegra 6700 looks awesome. At that price, you cant go wrong. Or maybe, Sram Force from Icycling for R8K if you wanna be different. Both will be a nice upgrade to your 9spd Ultegra, but they are not gonna make you ride much faster...
  23. For more speed on the single track...
  24. Few shops seem to stock the original ones, that is one of the reasons that the KCNC ones are so popular. That, and their bling factor.
