  1. Watching with interest and excitement
  2. Teng Tools replied with: We use a company called Tool Imports (73A Voortrekker Rd, Parow), they will need the torque wrench for about 1-2 business days. Please get in touch with them directly on 021 930 9723.
  3. Where would one take a torque wrench to be calibrated ? Mine is a Teng that I bought more than 10 years ago. It's lived in its plastic case and never been dropped. Edit: I am in Cape Town
  4. That's quite something (must have weighed a ton!)
  5. Ja, we have placed a few orders with Wesley Top Notch !
  6. Super keen to do a group order! Its been too long. I would take a kg of Holy Roller beans
  7. Same as their word for cat...
  8. Tell us what you think of that pompie! I have lost my pocket pump and that one caught my eye, but I am worried that it would be too small to be of any real use. It would only see action once I have run out of bombs. I am running the 28mm version of those Contis.
  9. Did this lady drive the route on the weekend ?
  10. I posted in another thread that I am also unimpressed with my Vittorias. Perhaps I didn't realise that they weren't very trail orientated. Pinch flatting on my first ride hasn't helped my impression of them either. Instead of enjoying the single track, I am waiting for one of the tyres to slide out on every corner. I don't want to adjust my riding style to suit my tyres - my tyres should match how I want to ride. So, need to buy some knobblier rubber
  11. The arms of the pliers seem long, so leverage should be good. A section of chain on either arm should give sufficient grip on the cassette. Potentially less fiddly than the tried, tested and reliable wrapping of the 'normal' chainwhip. I will post my experiences when I next change a cassette
  12. Glad I asked! I am looking for tyres that do their job. Got enough admin as it is… Perhaps I should have a lurk around Freewheel again see what they have on their shelves .
  13. I ordered the Finish Line grease gun, but Evobikes didn't have stock. This one says VP on the side and by the looks of things, is identical
  14. I managed to break my trusty Shimano one that I have had for years - not sure what I did, but I totally wrecked it. This Pro one looks and feels good. I will try and make this one last a bit longer. I ordered the SR-12 chainwhip, but CCS sent those pliers. Evobikes said that they wouldn't charge me the difference even though I insisted.
  15. I recently got a 2.35" Barzo / Mezcal CC combo for my Camber and am not too impressed. Pinch flatted on the first ride and feel like I am riding on slippery ice (OK, mild exaggeration). My previous combo was the Specialized Purgatory and Ground Control combo, but stock is in short supply Would I be better off with the Onza Ibex 2.4 120 TPI pairing ?
  16. If you act fast, you could snag it for R18k (2nd hand...) https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/complete-groupsets/460894/sram-axs-upgrade-kit
  17. Where's the challenge in that ? Do you even get a medal ? Isn't it a certificate that you down load ?
  18. A few more items to fill the toolbox The wishlist is still quite long, but luckily for my wallet, stock availability is slowing things down.
  19. The launch of new bikes may be a few months away, but the availability of the actual bikes will be a bigger issue and may take until this time next year to come right. The AXS upgrade will scratch your current itch. Enjoy
  20. Stand at your PC and browse whatever online shop you like and pretend you are walking around the expo. Perhaps get your wife and kids to bump you and stand on your toes from time to time to make the the experience more realistic. You will end up sore, stiff, tired, irritable and empty handed - just like the expo. The goodie bag has an old magazine, an unusable water bottle, deodorant sample, small muesli bar and a stale Future Life sample and 62 flyers, vouchers and pamphlets. Ending up empty handed will surely be better than all of this loot ?
  21. You want to hear/taste/feel panic at the start line? Someone realises that their tyre is flat or spontaneously deflates in the start chute
  22. Very nice! Congratulations It will be interesting to hear your impressions of the new vs old bike and what you think of disc brakes
  23. Congrats! What an awesome set-up. (What was your original budget again ? )
