  1. Very good series They make a great change from all the American stuff I have been watching
  2. Seems like you aren't the only one thinking in that direction... https://bikerumor.com/2019/02/18/ventoux-cycling-helmet-concept-aims-for-aero-full-face-road-riding-protection/
  3. really enjoyed that. How long do we have to wait for the sequel ?
  4. in 'Stralia they are called dump chooks
  5. Wouldn't that be a cow ?
  6. Wow. What an event! Dryland were great hosts and the Kaleo farm was a good venue. That terrain is harsh! Beautiful green farms, but everything in between is rock and sand and dust. Climbs and descents are steep. Most of the singletrack is quite technical (except for yesterday) - you have to concentrate all the time. Descents were awesome. Loved those - especially down from the Merino Monster Mast. Rocks just want to throw you off or eat your tyres. Even the plants are too scared to grow above knee height. I am very glad to say that I am a finisher (given the drop out rate) but am totally shattered today
  7. Even the team sponsors got involved: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/keisse-saga-sparks-tensions-between-quickstep-team-and-new-sponsor-deceuninck/
  8. You called ?
  9. Google says: ABT AUDI SQ5 WITH WIDEBODY AEROKIT AND 425 HP https://www.abt-sportsline.com/audi-tuning/sq5/
  10. Love these Rapha videos
  11. Riding home via Vredehoek and Rhodes Mem was a bad idea. Not sure where would have been better though. Woodstock would have been dangerous too
  12. When proper tyres are comfortably over a kg each...
  13. That is the ONLY water in Cape Town, hence it's a secret spot
  14. I wish I could do this event again soon. Loved it in 2015
  15. To be a cunning linguist ?
  16. Weren't riders disqualified and banned en-masse ? That was a regular thing at our PPA races not too long ago
  17. What sealant do you recommend using with these tyres?
  18. Not sure if they are transferable, but they could be redeemed as vouchers for someone to use
  19. I imagine that there are a lot of people who are upset because they fell short of their 100km Strava Gran Fondo challenge by a few hundred meters
  20. I am just a side knob
  21. I also prefer left turns I feel like a monkey humping a football when I take a right I am chuckling at this talk of tyres communicating grip, with slight drifting etc as if taking a corner is a long drawn out process Think Matt Hunter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOlVJv7jAHg. My fast cornering experience is a combination of enthusiasm and bravado making up for lack of skill and talent, with a good portion of panic all compressed into a few microseconds followed by a lot of disbelief or dust, grazes and swearing.
  22. Should be paired with one of these:
  23. So, this event is around the corner and my excitement and nervousness is building. I have read the race reports and watched a few videos, so am looking forward to good single tracks which hopefully makes the big climbs worth the effort. Definitely nervous of the vertical meters and hope that it doesn't get too hot. Anyone else riding ?
  24. I ride to work in the morning and switch off my Garmin when I arrive. When its time to leave, I switch on and press start and it resumes the session and I get one combined effort when I get home. That's on a Garmin 520 - not sure if other devices behave the same way.
