That video led me to this one:
  3. You don't go 'Green' or 'Off-Grid' to save money...
  4. That is insane! Are there more pics and details of this build somewhere ?
  5. Very fast looking with no boobs?
  6. @ Beard - sorry to hear about your misfortune. My experience is similar in that the company I worked for closed it's doors in middle Feb. It was a small Consulting Structural Engineering firm. Writing was also on the wall - but the wall suddenly got very close, and we slammed into it. January salaries were delayed and then we were told that Feb salaries couldn't be paid and the company had no choice but to close it's doors. So, no retrenchment package, leave pay etc - that stung a bit. I floated around in the job market for a while and even dabbled in a career change 'cos now was as good an opportunity as ever!', but nothing came of that and I settled back into Plan B - start my own company (In hind sight, that should have been Plan A years ago). So, here I am. Working from home on the desk that I built myself, scratching around trying to make contact with as many people as possible and build a network to work with and for. People have been supportive and acknowledge that this is k@k, but they say that in years to come I will look back and see this as the best thing that could have happened. 'Running your own show and being your own boss is great' and all that. I need to believe it and focus on getting through this so that I can look back and agree. Each week feels better and more productive. The end of each month is stressful, but I need to remain positive, upbeat and optimistic during the days in between. Luckily, my wife has a full time job to ease the pressure, but it's been an interesting year so far. Oh, and give LinkedIn another go - I have made contact with people I used to know and that has been useful. It's also handy for keeping up to date with the industry and who is doing what. You just need to be more selective about who you follow and link up with etc. I wish you luck and strength in your new endeavour.
  7. Those are big numbers, but not crazy compared to current/outgoing models. But then again, we shop around for good deals so that we don't pay full RRP, don't we ? EasyGIS for example...
  8. What wheels do you have? Are they upgrade able to Shimano Microspline ? i.e. DT Swiss hub ? Or Will you go E-Thirteen 9-50 cassette (with Sram XD) ? Or Will you go Sunrace 11-50 which fits on a std Shimano freehub ? Also check that if you are using your current wheels on the new frame that they are compatible (Boost spacing etc)
  9. CWC and Evobikes will probably be able to answer you
  10. These bikes are an update/reinvention of their current Stage and Stage Max models.
  11. I don't think there is much on line. Everything I know is from a Project Mobu brochure/folder thing I got when the Pyga boys did a talk at a corporate function recently. The first 50 frames are sort of crowd funded and those purchasers sign a N.D.A. https://blackstonetek.com/ are their partners in the manufacturing process - clever new technology and systems. R55k gets you a frame and rear shock. ETA around the end of the year.
  12. Project Mobu, I think it's called. 2 options; 120mm fork, 112mm travel 140mm fork, 135mm travel Adjustable reach with 'flip' headset cups Boost spacing with Plus5 Flatmount rear brake Optional 3D printed Titanium rocker Any colour you want, as long as its matt clearcoat over raw carbon.
  13. I get that its not about The Departure itself, but more about the effect it had on The Leftovers and their reactions and personal battles. But I felt that there were some story lines that seemed to be forgotten in the last episode or two and now seem like irrelevant tangents (like the Guilty Remnant, the 2nd coming theme, the dogs and a few others). Maybe I am still a bit raw from the way G.O.T. ended - huge character developments that seemed to come to nothing.
  14. Ok, I watched all three seasons - 2 episodes a night so its all nice and fresh in my head. WTF ? Some of it was amazing and very well done. Other stuff, was um... And then the ending? A beautiful and emotional scene, but seemed to ignore a million other things that had happened in the previous 2 seasons. Loved the soundtrack. But a lot of things were LOST on me (see what I did there ?)

UCI takes sock doping very seriously https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DsHQytYXQAA9GnP.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D-4EgZgXsAAowZU.jpg:large
  16. On the surface, I like the idea. But its a useless action unless its done regularly to enforce the rule. If its a once-off, it will just piss people off and they will ignore the tickets

  21. My Nespresso machine no longer gives me the thrills it used to, and I am loving by Bialetti again. But working from home, I want to walk into the kitchen, push a button, get coffee and be done. So am torn between the convenience of the one and the quality of the other. I have been window shopping for a bean to cup machine for a while now. It would just be an espresso machine as I didn't want the machine to do frothy milk (it doesn't seem to achieve the right micro bubble texture in my limited experience). I can't afford a machine right now, but when I can, I wanted to be in a position to pounce with a budget under R10k, I narrowed it down to one or two machines. Then I got caught up on this thread and various other articles and blogs etc and came to understand the importance of a good grinder. And I wondered how many integrated machines have a burr grinder that's 'good enough' for proper espresso? I use ' ' because opinions vary on grinders - R1800 is 'OK' to nothing less than R5k for an espresso machine. Would I be better off with stand alone grinder and a separate espresso machine? And then if I really wanted milk, I learn to use the steam wand (or heaven forbid, just use the Nespresso frother). But then I realised that I am back to labour intensive coffee again (albeit of good quality). So, my dilemma is a bit fictitious for me at the moment, but my question still stands: Which machine has a 'good enough' burr grinder ? Edit: This may have been discussed over the previous 350 pages, so I apologise for the question if it's a repeat.
  22. Does this also mean that a Taller Boy is on the way soon ? Seems like quite a gap between the current Tallboy and the High/Mega Towers
  23. Wicked looking machine, but the gaps or differences between models (High and Mega Tower) is really small now. Comments on Pink Bike: Mini mega tower bigger Bronson nano nomad very small V10 5upersized 5010 Waiting for a new Hightower LT to "blur" the line between this "mega" range
