I registered and did all the admin online (including payment) for my passport, so I had to go to Home Affairs in cape Town to do the biometrics and photos. I was prepared for the worst, and was very surprised to be out of there in 45 minutes. That included adding a new ID card to the menu (and having to pay R140.00). SMS sent within a few days to collect Passport and then another week or so for 2nd SMS to collect ID at Wynberg branch. I am hoping that process isn't too traumatic...

Indeed. cheaper too! But my shoes have ratchets and no matter what shoe lace you show me, it won't be as beautiful as this. Nor can a shoe lace hold my quick links so smartly. Oh, and a shoe lace cannot loosen the valve nut thingie - that nearly ruined my ride the other day when I had to tube my tyre.
