From Blouberg to Obs around 21km one way no ups that is worth mentioning. Biggest surprise factor for me is that it seems that taxis are more considerate and friendly the any other type of driver. Yes commuters are friendly, must invest in booties as i found last winter my open finger gloves are much warmer then my shoes . Also invested in a carrier, my wife thinks it looks bad but it's functional so i don't really mind what it looks like.

The point most of us are missing is the fact that even the honest LBS' are being implicated as the suppliers/distributors are the ones causing the issue, as someone mentioned earlier no matter who to phone the price stays the same. I will also support my LBS as i'm at the stage where they know my preference and that you won't get from CRC. I'm not the type of guy to shop around and thus far i've been lucky in not needing a replacement now but rather later so i'm able to wait for the order should stock issues arise. But then on the other hand some of the other "locals" i've been to would have pushed me to CRC if i've known about them earlier, as the service and manners from these where terrible to say the least

The best option how ever would have been to attend the Ride before you buy day at tokai but that was a weekend or two ago not sure when the next one would be. So the next best option is not asking for our experiances but rather go to you LBS and arrange to give the bikes you are interested in a quick try and see which you like more, eg. handeling, fit ect.

I would say buy the best you can afford, since this should have close to top of the range group sets on anyway, thus you will not need to upgrade only to maintain. I have a Merida and am very happy with it so i would obviously recommend it to anyone

Don't use gels anymore as for me it's a waste of money, I prefer real foods as it's way easier to stomach and your body is use to them, i don't however eat bananas(never have) so i use appels & raisins. I would go with Merida rather than a goose. Friend of mine has a entrylevel goose and it's crap imo but i am biased as i have a merida, the missus has a entry level scott and she is quite happy it, so maybe you boet can look into that as most proper entry level bike at that price has the pretty much same groupsets on and all should be v-brake
