  1. My little synopsis prediction for this TdeF:..........read Wiggins for the win! You make the time on your opponents on the TT's. With your "strong" team guiding you through and putting you up front on the good mountain days AND protecting you as much as much as possible on the bad days in the mountains, of which their is always one! Limit your losses.
  2. +1 on this I was off the bike for 8 months (end of '11 / begining of this year) and man o man did my @ss bones suffer. 2 months back into it and they still ache like a biaaatch after a 3hr ride. Take it slow mate......my missus still has nightmares of accidently checking me rub Arnica into me @ss in the garden shed !!!
  3. I know But still love to give you a hard time ! I see the pics of you in puke green kit!!!!
  4. Er, No. Why would he have peaked yet? The Dauphine is a testing ground for both rider and his team. Valverde is my dark horse for a podium. Punchy, you've gotta give up supporting AC....he's as bad as Lance!!
  5. Crashes aside..... IMO there probably isn't much to chose from between the favorites e.g. Wiggins, Evans, Hijsedal (not convinced he can win TdeF after the Giro effort) etc. Punchy, I believe it will come down to the team and who's team is the strongest and has the durability in numbers to survive the 22 days. Garmin and BMC, even LiquiGas are not in the same class as SKY at the moment and leading up to the TdeF IMO. I don't believe that the other teams have the quality in depth in their TdeF 9 man teams. Last year's TdeF was a weakk one IMO and Cadel shone predominately, as the BMC team had depth to support him.....they may have depth this year but no where near to what Sky can put on the road.
  6. Interesting. Watched a interview with Wiggins on Eurosport yesterday and the Chris Froome question came up. Who would the team support? Basically Wiggin's "politically correct" response was "who ever is in the lead". Also worth noting was the interviewer's observation at the conclusion of the interview.....Wiggins had helped and domistiqued Froome to stage victories earlier in the year, thereby appeasing him for the TdeF. Personally I think Froome will (super)domistique for Wiggins.
  7. I had these on my Anthem for the Grape race 3 day'er last year (they replaced SPD's).....I found them a lot more forgiving on my feet (Sidi shoes) than the SPD's after long rides in the saddle. I also felt that they gave me a better stable platform (probably just a mental thing!) when descending and standing up off the saddle. Just my 2c.
  8. Wiggo all the way!!
  9. Thanks mate!. Yeh, I'm going to use them at the weekly CRit next week ....no pothole on the course(got washed out this week...friggin Pommie summers..it's been pissin it down here for a week straight!! )
  10. Sorry RoboC....had the photo gallery permissions set as "friends only".....have reset them to All members.
  11. Di2 and Zipp 303 Firecrest beyond black clinchers.
  12. So as I indicated in my 1st post, you can't really see the external cabling, thanks to the SAXO bank colour scheme. Haven't put the Zipp clinchers on yet, as the Surrey roads are worse than Western Cape for pot holes!!! Having said that, our club has a TT up Box Hill (Olympic road race goes up there) and they have re-tarred and shaved off the speed bumps, so maybe I'll put them on .
  13. Yup. It's on my Sworks frame with Zipp 303's :-). As my frame is a 2010 (doesn't support Di2 internal cabling), I had to use the external wiring kit, so my down tube has a black stripe on it !!!! Doesn't look too bad though BUT next year March(bonus time!!!)......I'm going to get a new frame......still love the S5 'velo and all I need to do is get the internal wiring kit for the Di2 and the LBS will install onto the S5. I'll post pics later, once I work how to get them from my B/Berry on to here!
  14. English ain't your 1st language huh? Try SMS txt speech pleez? Cuz you r making no sens here dude!
  15. Release is due for Q4 2012 (Sep-Nov) sometime, ready for 2013...according to the local Specialised guys here in UK. There's gonna be a race battery (half size and weight of 2012 battery)as well. All electronic intelligence is supposedly being taken out of the shifters. Dumbing them done.
  16. 11 and 11 on new Di2. BTW no backward compatibility on Di2.
  17. I see Hunter has replaced (Go)Lance! on the Hub.....where's the Colonel when you need him?
  18. I'm sorry; I don't like it. Too bright and rather more kitch than bling. Give me the carbon/black look everytime.

  23. Saturday 18th June 2011 Plan to leave BP Garage at Lord Charles @ 8-8:15am. Opposite Waterstone Mall. Route: over Sir Lowrey's to Kleinmond (coffee/brekkie if you wish)via Houwhoek pass, then onto Gordons Bay via Clarens Drive/R44. +/- 125km distance +/- 25-27 km/h ave. About a 5 hour ride with coffee stop of 20 mins Weather = http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?hourly=1&query=Grabouw,%20South%20Africa&yday=168&weekday=Saturday Rides for Sunday look like they will be washed out, so I'm gonna ride Saturday.
