  1. BUMP 1. Park at Virgin Active in Waterstone Shopping Village. The shopping centre is on the corner of the R44 and Old Somerset West/Cape Town Main Road R102. 2. 50m accross the Main Road from VA is the BP garage. This is next to the main entrance for Lord Charles hotel. 3. This is where we will meet & leave from at 6h45 sharp. 4. We will probably ride through Sir Lowrey's village (lift our bikes over the gurad rails half way up the old pass road onto N2) and miss out the bottom part of the pass on the N2. 5. PM me you cell details if you want to. Tankman is in Mossel Bay until tomorrow but will be riding with us on Monday. AirB and Sir K, you guys can park at my house. PM me for details or Kris get them from your Boss at work :D Come one come all.
  2. Cool, like I said to AirG, park at my house ,bring change of gear and you can use the pool to wash off in, it's only 15degC :D !
  3. Monday's Public holiday is looking good. Thinking of following route AGAIN TANKMAN !!!! S/West (Lord Charles) - Sir Lowrey's past Grabouw - Houw Hoek - Kleinmond (coffee) - Rooi Els - G/Bay - single trip up to Steenbras Waterworx- home +/- 130km's leave S/West around 6h45, so will get to over/top of Sir Lowrey's in the light.
  4. ghey and you've indeed lost one cycling mate !!!
  5. Aaha ! OK cool, will do. Where will we start the 130km on Sat from ?
  6. Anyone keen to ride Sunday, weather looks good. http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?hourly=1&query=zmw:00000.1.68911&yday=106&weekday=Sunday Thinking of following route S/West (Lord Charles) - Sir Lowrey's past Grabouw - Houw Hoek - Kleinmond (coffee) - Rooi Els - G/Bay - home +/- 130km's leave S/West around 6am, so will get to over/top of Sir Lowrey's in the light.
  7. When you decide to do these routes in the DAYTIME, gimme a shout !
  8. AirG......it ain't updated.
  9. Enjoyed this race tremendously but will not do it again. IMO it isn't value for money...enough said. Saw a guy break his bike in half on the first major decent (about an hour into the race)......surreal experience......these 3 guys (I think they were in CWC kit, could be wrong though) come shunting past me, got round the corner half way down the hill and here's this dude and friends holding seperate halfs of his bike :D .
  10. Dumb and Dumber , comes to mind, aka Sam Fisher & Tankman
  11. As a comparison for you : How does Lourensford work with the Basin MTB club? Yes, it's only farm one farm (albeit a brute one ) and you are talking multiple farm crossings but surely you may be able to get some comparisons to work with? I'm not sure how many members Basin has but I'm gladly paying R500 pa to get access onto Lourensford every Sat & Sun and would gladly pay similar to your "future club model" to do likewise on your turf.
  12. :D Walk ? Spokes broken, have another muffin dude I thought you could run Kent ? For the original poster....BTW I have a set and they are brilliant. You've just got to make sure that you adjust the rear hub +/- function correctly.
  13. Diet maybe ? Seriously, though, what you may think is not over tightening, may indeed be over tightening, if you used just a multi tool. Torque wrench a safer option if you can afford it.
  14. Tank, got my entry ! Just p!ssed I had to pay for your entertainment All i ask is that you keep me a frosty for after the 55km ?
  15. I rode with one arm the last 25km's and still beat 36000 riders ....can i move up in the seeds please ? Seriously though ; most of our seeding systems are flawed e.g PPA and Argus (and i don't see that changing any time soon).... I like what was said above " I ride against myself {MiWay advert fan perhaps?}".....it's like golf; play the course not the man, even in matchplay"......focus on yourself cuz you can't really do much about he other guy.
  16. I can only comment on Rafeeq's service, and he is brilliant IMO. My bike is there now having Argus crash damage assessment for insurance. Rafeeq is brilliant with SRAM set ups and is the only guy I will use.
  17. Thanks for the compliment and get well wishes too !
  18. Ja ja ja dude your SL3 frame is ok :D .... it's insured all risks Minor component damage really...gonna take it in for quotes on new hoods, bars, saddle, SRAM Red brake/gear levers (left side grated down), both QR's grated away (KCNC's) etc etc....don't have to pay access, so going to see what they can do.
  19. I'm still waiting for an answer from any of the front guys in F&G , as to why it happened......and the answer is...it's racing, sh!t happens. Like I said in the G group thread......I was 5 or 6 rows back , saw the front middle left riders go down for no apparent reason , heard the brakes , managed to miss the pile up but guys behind rammed into me and down I went. Broken hand and gashes with major road rash later, cant wait to get back on the bike. indoor spinnning for 2-3 weeks is gonna make me crazy
  20. They've done 5 TO ultras and 4 Commies...so a fashion statement they are not :D ...they could probably walk the Argus on their own if they were allowed to...they are that skanky !
  21. Dude WTF ? ! Apologies, but you sound like a fruit and no, it's not metro to choose an oufit to ride in......it's ghey and kamp ! And colour coded booties....nie man, you are begining to sound like you come from Stellenbosch dude.....again WTF ?
  22. Found guilty; then not so guilty, then he did indeed eat some poorly harvested meat. And certain numbnuts are glad he is back in the bunch? Keep your head in the sand boyz. I only hope that AC's case goes the same way as Valverde. Ban the f00ker.
  23. Agree with nearly all that you say. However the MAJOR issue is with the Ghost Giro rider. Darren Lill, as an example cannot beat the Ghost Giro rider and he is the SA Champ and Stage 6 TofSA winner. Moolman can't even beat himself and these chaps all ride the Giro...so pray tell me WTF is up with that ?
  24. Jajija (spelling something like that)....Bovine milking balm available at DisChem....good for the cows good for your ass. In yellow and black tubs of 500ml for about R70. Pictures of cows on it.
  25. Interesting thought...what if the original Ironman Tri guys, actually started the craze with running the marathon first, then bike ,then swim.....how popular do think it would have been ? Me thinks not so much .... Running blitzes ya.
