  1. I think that's the Hoerikwigga trail you're looking at-VERY off limits to bikers! Pity cos it is rideable but quite busy and a hefty fine coming your way if you're bust!
  2. Pretty sure you are NOT ALLLOWED bikes on trains. The only option is that you can put a folding bike on a train but it must be folded and in the bag!
  3. Great event! Thanks for all the hard work!
  4. Sure Tywalk, will chat to you via email. Thanks for the enquiry, sure we can sort something out!
  5. We've got this 10 day singletrack trip!
  6. Well done Hylton-if it gets people wanting to ride more then you've nailed it! Just a heads up that Graham van der Ruit has been building a new trail in Howick that will eventually link up Howick and Karkloof-how cool is that!?
  7. I still have just as much fun on my steel hardtail Voodoo as on my Trance X with 5" travel...and do the same drops and jumps on it. Obviously it'll always be heavier than alu/carbon but IMO anyone who isn't top a top SA racer doesn't need that light weight to be competitive btw their friends. I would love more quality steel frames to be available to the market with modern geometry!
  8. So nice to hear-exactly what the 'smaller guys' need to be doing to compete against the disinterested bigger guys. Here's their website btw http://cotic.co.za/ My next bike will be once of these me thinks (after my Voodoo breaks)
  9. Hey guys, A a friend made of us riding on Devils peak. Same footage as , different editor = different result.
  10. See you there! I have put up a blog post here.
  11. Nice! Perfect timing for the safety awareness ride this Sunday on Table Mountain. Check out our blog post for more info. Hope to see you all there!
  12. Haven't got downloads for you but you are welcome to download our maps on our trail maps page.
  13. For anyone in Cape Town there are these clinics held by iRide Africa- a good excuse to get to new trails and learn how to improve using the proper techniques.
  14. GTRacing- ratios don't really matter-it's just a ride with some fun afterwards (but 32/16 or-32/18 is fine on a 26er)
  15. Anyone with 1 gear, join us if you can! More details here. Gonna be fun!
  16. Caerus, even I find it expensive! But its in line with world wide bike rental prices and still cheaper than many of our competitors (by half!). You have to remember that someone has to fix the punctures, clean the bike and service it after every ride and then the bikes have to be renewed every year to be kept up to date. Our price also includes drop off and pick up as well as water bottles, good helmets, tools and spare tubes.
  17. Hiya, Check out iRideAfrica. We've got some high quality bikes.
  18. Hi Guys, I've made a map of the Schapenberg trails and wrote up a short review of them on our blog here. The map will be printed and put on display at the trailhead some time soon.

  21. Morning guys, here's a quick post about yesterdays' trail building session at Tokai Thanks to everyone who pitched up and made Tokai better-looking forward to more new trails in the future!

  23. Hate to punt Specialized, but the Captain Control is amazing! Predictable grip, good sidewalls and wears slowly! I've had my 2.2 for almost years and its still got loads of tread and not one sidewall split (common with my riding-technical XC)
  24. Look up Newline sports South Africa. Better than any local brand and about the same price. Made in Denmark and unbelievable quality.
  25. Onestuckpixel, You won't find many jumps that are easier than UCT ones. I helped build them in the early days and they were perfect for begginners (small and more tabletops). Unfortunately, as we progressed and better riders started building there, the track got pretty technical and a bit harder. The only real options IMO for a begginer jumper are Delvera farm in Stellenbosch and the G Spot in Stellenbosch. The ones in Constantia are a definet no-no for a begginner (let alone the crowd that hangs there!)
