  5. I Had it done in '17 and took the sleeping option. From all the stories I heard before there were a couple of horror ones but most of them positive. It was a day trip for me. I Stay in Middelburg and had it done at Wilgers in Pretoria. Me and the wife left town at 05:00. Checked in at the hospital at 07:00. Went into theater at 09:00. Back in the ward at 10:30. Ate a sarmie and was discharged at 11:00. Stopped at two bike shops to pick up some stuff. Had lunch at Mozambik and was back in town at 17:00. A week later I convinced my wife we should do a "test hump" just to confirm everything is working properly. Two weeks later I started riding bike again. I Didn't go straight for a four hour ride but a couple of two hour rides wasn't uncomfortable at all. My wounds healed very well and I even removed my own stitches before they dissolved. I Was given a Lancet form and sample bottle when I was discharged from the hospital. Three months later I went to Lancet here in town, did the restroom rub and handed it in. Got a call a couple of days later to confirming that I was shooting blank's. Don't know about riding after a week though, especially with two procedures being done same time ?
  6. I'm looking for some feedback and/or advice on carbon rims please. I'm gonna need a set of wheels in a couple of months and decided to do my first build. I'm looking at getting the Stans Arch CB7 carbon rims and build them with Hope Pro4 hubs that I already have. Is there someone here that are using these rims that can give me some feedback on them ? How do they handle/perform ? How durable are they ? The wheelset will be used on a Pyga OneTen29. Any other suggestions or advice will be welcome. Thanks.

Me too I Have a friend who owns one. His setup set him back R110k. Now and then I get the opportunity to fire a couple of shots with it. You get a lekke warm and fuzzy SNIPER feeling when handling and firing it. IT'S FREAKING AWESOME !

My vote would be .308. It's been used for long range shooting for years. It's not flashy or exotic but it does the job well. Cartridge components is usually easily available and affordable.

100 days later and finally I could get to the range to fire some shots. The ammo I gathered was a big variety of different loads and age. From slug's to No.8's varying in age from 4 months to 20 years plus. Fed and fired 107 rounds without a single issue. I'm seriously impressed with this shotgun ! On the target is the last 6 rounds I fired, standing at 20 meters. 5 Slugs and 1 round of 00-Buckshot which is close or similar to SG. Using the standard/supplied IC choke the grouping is not bad at all. Two of the slug's almost thru the same hole. The buckshot has 9 pellets that are all on the target with 1 flyer a little upwards.

  11. Yes I always talk and deal with Johan. My first heli was a Venture 50. I Must have crashed that thing about 50 times. I Didn't have someone to teach or buddy me so I learned the expensive way. I Have owned most of the brands over the years but the JR's was by far my favorites. My Vibe 50 had 300 flights in it's logbook when I sold it.
  12. JR was bought by a company called DFA. I Think they are still operating but it's not JR like it was back in the day. JK-Products is/was the importer and they still have some JR stuff. I Also still have a JR 9XII transmitter with a Spektrum 2.4GHz module fitted. It is still in excellent condition and works perfectly so no need to change anything. Currently I only have one heli. It's a Hirobo SDX (600 size nitro) old school fly-bar model. It is set up with a Spektrum receiver, YS 56 engine, Hatori pipe and Futaba electronics. Unfortunately SA Modelsport closed a couple of years ago so there is no importer for Hirobo in the country. Hirobo is still in business so you can import if needed. I've got a complete new spare kit and some extra spares so i'm good for a crash or two. I Will probably switch to Align or Goblin sometime in the future, they the only brands with decent importers that I know of. (please excuse the beer )

  14. Just some side note's on all of my bike's: 1. They all got Fizik Gobi saddles fitted. They just fit my ass well. 2. They all got some version of Shimano SPD peddles fitted. I Use one pair of shoes for all my riding. 3. They all got their brakes switched to right hand front brake. Reason for the brakes are that I started offroad and motocross riding and racing when I was 7. So after being used to having the front brake on my right hand for years I couldn't adapt to riding a bicycle with the brakes other way around.
  15. My bike recently took some time to reflect as well
  16. '04 KTM Raceline 26 I Bought this bike new in '04 and it was used in it's standard form till about '17 covering roughly 15000km's. I Saw some threads around here about building monster cross and gravel bikes and decided to give it go since the old 26" was getting used less and less. I Got hold of a Bontrager 700 disc wheelset and bought a rigid carbon fork from fellow hubber MTBTG. I Use a 11-36 cassette but the chainrings were changed to 28-44 to get a better top speed. 17. '18 Pyga OneTen 29 If I had to sell my bikes this one will be the last to go. This bike is an absolute joy to ride and by far my favourite in my fleet. 18. '02 Wheeler 4100 I've only had this bike for a couple of months and have done about 1000km's with it. It was a "Garage Find" when I visited a client of mine. I Saw it by accident covered with a ton of dust. He didn't want any money for it, said if I wanted it I can take it. Obviously I did. I Don't know the exact age of this bike but he told me he had it since '02 hence me calling it a '02 model. The only two parts that is not original is the handle bar and stem. The biggest tire that would fit into the frame was a 25 so I made a slight modification to fit a 28. I Stripped it down completely, cleaned and serviced every part and put it back together again. She cleaned up pretty good and is actually in pretty good nick. Also rides like a dream. I Received the sms for my licence collection on Wednesday. I Was at my SAPS office 5 minutes later and at the gun shop 15 minutes after collecting my licence. I Am stoked to have gotten it just in time before the lock down. Only bummer is that I don't know how long it's going to take before I can get it to the range. I'll be admiring and fondling it at home for the next couple of weeks.
