  1. Corrected. All the woman I know reading this book love it (my wife included)
  2. I'm not here to judge anybody as I've yet to walk in any of your shoes, but my heart does go out to the family & friends of both the cyclist and the suspect. I also do not wish to judge the suspect but his actions in both cases have been very selfish and cowardly as it effects others and it was in both cases the easy way out.
  3. Shoprite decided to refund everybody out of their own pocket who bought tickets through them - I think its a wonderful gesture.
  4. Was thinking the same. I think its more effective than lights as the reality is these guys don't have money to replace the batteries. I also saw at Cash Crusadors they have very cheap red lights (R13) - I actually have one (got it with my extreme light) and works well. If any Hubber knows a commuter that cannot afford a light, please open your wallet a small bit and give him a light and some reflective tape.
  5. Real Hubbers use wet lube so as long as the don't mess with Finish Line Green, I'm happy
  6. But is it cheaper than Wit Blitz?
  7. Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to try it on my helmet next time and see the difference. Without a doubt I release I need a second light - one on the head and another on the bars
  8. Thanks 2nd question, where to place the battery? It does not weigh much and I walked around with it tucked under the headstrap one night and did not notice it. Is it norma to mount it on the helmet, or should I look like a coal miner and mount it to my baggies belt (I'm a MTBer so ride with baggies)
  9. This is the one I bought" http://www.extremelights.co.za/products/1000-lumen-bike-rubber-battery-tail-light-head-band http://media.someammo.com/eb752b666c38/img_20120531_214419_630W.jpg
  10. So last week I took my new Extreme light out for a spin and really happy to have bought something strong than 1 candlelight (unlike my Blackburn). I plan to buy a second (stronger) light but for now where is the best placement when running a single light? I will be using this on tar at night in the suburbs after 8pm and the roads are generally quiet and poorley lite.
  11. Well done CWC and I'm glad to see that these went to needy kids from all communities
  12. Use an old water bottle. I've got a cylinder which fites into the water bottle cage that works weel but goint to rather use an old bottle to also store a cellphone in. A lot of guys duct tape the spare tube to saddle post.
  13. Nice, I always had this crazy dream of building something like this to cycle tour Southern Africa in.
  14. I've got D'Arcs and love them. Shop around on prices from your optom and don't assume Specasavers is going to be the cheapest.
  15. I got a B2100 - shock resistance and water proof.
  16. The ciclo is identical to the Sigma in features.
  17. I don't do spinning but using a HRM just for general training rides makes the difference. If your not buying something in the league of a Polar, then visist CWCylces and get their budget Sigmas.
  18. I would agree to buy on demand and then you can decide on the quality you need for the task.
  19. If you have not already bought then check with CWCycles (email him direct) - they had some killer deals on 9spd shifters last year and thats how I was able to upgrade.
  20. I've got Park Tools, BBB, home-made and who-flung-dung ... they all get the job done even if they don't come with bragging rights. Get the IceToolz and save a packet.
  21. I realise this and could not stop laughing while think of the response people get when they look into light EDIT: LOL ... my D-Cell Maglite is only 134 lumens compared to 800plus you rate this one at
  22. LOL ... I made that mistake with my LED Maglite.
  23. On my way to the bus stop this mornig I saw a guy come past with his MTB and lights and thought that would be nice. Got me thinking today and then Pyrolights posted a budget light on Facebook. So ordered them tonight and cant wait. Soon I will be able to go for a ride at night or in the mornings.
  24. +1 on your online store. Its basic but it works. Now just waiting for that retard Standard Bank to make the payment visible to Payfast. Saw a guy cycling this morning on my way to the bus stop and thought that would be nice, then I saw your "Good Value" post on Facebook and went for it. One thing I've heard on the Hub and off is once you get into lights your screwed as your always going to want bigger and brighter. I can already see the wife authorise an upgrade if I can get my son to ride his bike and join dad on some night riding in the suburbs.
  25. Sweet mother of Optimus, that shock looks like it came off a Transformer - porn deluxe
