  1. Pity. Feels somewhat risky to bring SRAM brakes in from overseas given their earlier issues with the lever...decisions, decisions
  2. In line with the interest in Codes, has anyone looked at getting Guide RE's? Not sure of availability locally but they appear to be a great middle ground between the Guides and Codes
  3. Wish I knew too! Only been able to find the Code RSC at CWC, but not sure if you're looking to spend that much https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/sram-code-rsc-disc-brakeset

If you know someone with a 3D printer I can send you the file you need. Did this a while back and works the bomb, just don't have access to a printer any more

Heard about the Lyne wheels as well, looking forward to their release. Any idea on pricing?

  7. Anyone ever used www.alltricks.com/? Prices appear competitive and they deliver internationally through courier services (from what I can tell), but wondering if anyone local has ordered from them, before placing an order of my own
  8. Titanfan - what are your thoughts of the Slate T4s? How long have you been using them for?
  9. By the sounds of it the cleat pocket on the 2FO is not deep enough to offer sole contact with shimano pedals. Perhaps changing pedals to something like the mallet E is the way to go, like Eddy suggests, since these have different sized spacers you can fit to the outer edge of the platform. Obviously not a cheap fix. What is your cleat position like? Does pushing the cleats backwards make any difference? Trying to recess the cleat too deep into the pocket may create issues with cleat engagement though, which would get frustrating if you're after quick clip in clip out. So it seems the options are new pedals, new shoes...or flats!

  11. Think you can buy directly from them onlinehttps://www.csixx.co.za/collections/shimano/products/tt-chainring-104-bcd?variant=7082617669
  12. The short answer is no. Unless you have a permit, the Port Authority will not let you onto the access road. Plus I doubt the trucks there have much care for cyclists, squish factor possible
  13. You'll likely need to take a couple links out your chain

  15. I don't think there is ramp control for the durolux, only for Fox and RS at the moment. Haven't ridden with the ramp control before but really like the concept of it. If there was one for the durolux, it would no doubt elevate the fork that much more. Intrigued by Suntour as a brand though. They seem to have good representation on the international competitive circuit (their DH fork is used by the Polygon team and they're represented in the other disciplines as well), yet their rep remains weak owing to concerns of durability. Almost tempted to throw caution to the wind and try one of the Auron or Durolux out, but then it still isn't exactly a cheap experiment!
  16. Look forward to giving this a test over the weekend. Local product, looks the business, good pricing, and on the surface quality looks tops. Time will tell
  17. A pedal full of those pins is not the grippiest though
  18. Certainly cannot argue with that, but then there's the price difference... https://ridewithzeal.co.za/collections/suspension-forks/products/mrp-stage-160mm-travel-26-27-5-fork https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/fork/products/suntour-durolux-enduro-fork
  19. All good, no rush on that. Just a point of interest and for future reference
  20. Can you remember the model name?
  21. Thanks Droo. Local support is of course the other major consideration. From the forum it seems Dragon Sports doesn't have the greatest rep (assume they are still the Suntour distributors), so if something were to go belly up it would at least be nice to know there is solid backup...especially if they will break
  22. Has anyone had any experience with the higher end SR Suntour forks? I know their more budget offerings come regularly specced on entry level bikes and they don't have the greatest amount of adjustability, but some of their more tunable options (e.g. Auron and Durolux) are receiving decent reviews and come in at a really good price point compared to the bigger brand names. So, anyone currently or previously owned one? If so, any feedback around this? https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Forks,33/SR-Suntour/Durolux-29-R2C2-PCS,21252#product-reviews/2946/expand http://dirtragmag.com/review-suntour-auron-pcs-rc2-fork/
