  1. Hello JK7, Our team is happy to answer any questions and feel free to reach out to us. Important things to keep in mind when buying this for your MTB specifically is: * You need a through axle adapter kit if you are not using a QR. This adds about R1500 to your purchase * The SNAP is not boost compatible * A Slick tyre is recommended on a "wheel on" trainer. Nobs does make some noise. Cheers! Your local Wahooligan
  2. Hey Guys, apologies for a slow response on the Hub. Sean, Dyllan, Manoah or myself can be contacted for support at the office. One of us is available 99% of the time. Please give a call tomorrow if you have not heard from us yet. We also use a support system that can be found on www.ikhambi.co.za by clicking and submitting either a support or warrantee form. Cheers!
  3. Hello Chris, So sorry for the wait. We are eager to get you back on your KICKR as soon as possible. The first units coming in will be allotted to our customers requiring support. Cheers! Your local Wahooligan
  4. Hey FIROZFX, No need to service the unit unless you get a crazy sound or the product simply stops working. Cheers! Your local Wahooligan
  5. Hello, Warrantee issues are being addressed as a matter of urgency and our team has worked over the weekend to ensure we work through the backlog of requests. Out of box issues and replacements take priority and will be addressed latest this week. Please DM me if you do not see movement and I will prioritise where I can. We are not servicing any Wahoo Trainers until level 3 in line with the government guidelines on servicing products. Any replacement part or consumable will still be available to ship however. 6. What the heck, why are they allowed to sell trainers and we not? This is either highly unfair or illegal.
  7. Hey Cookie88, We're still slightly confused, the speech was very vague. I trust we will have more clarity from the ministers in the next couple of days. Talk is that warehouses can open, but an open warehouse is quite useless without an open retailer.
  8. Hello NINER_Boy, and readers, Christian here, managing director at Ikhambi Distribution/Wahoo Fitness South Africa. Thanks for starting the topic and it is a very important point to answer as the Wahoo distributor in SA. It was undoubtably the toughest month to make decisions for both myself and my sales management team... Our greatest concern was that we seem to be profiteering due to the demand for trainers. I would like to take this opportunity to give some background to the past couple of weeks: The week before lockdown we landed some stock at a reasonable exchange rate of R15/usd and with a healthy 150 trainers in the warehouse we were on par with our sales forecasting. Needless to say that as soon as the lockdown was announced these units evaporates into thing air in a single day. I estimate that if we had 3,000 trainers we would sell every single one in the week the announcement landed. During the lockdown our next shipment arrived early in April, and became payable in the last week. The assumption that distributors pay months earlier or always take forward cover does not apply to all brands, and with a fast moving product like Wahoo we did not have the luxury of either options. Cashflow is a challenge, many debtors has started to delay outstanding payments since end of March. We ended up paying at an average of R18,50/USD for our shipment. The compound effect hit us extra hard on shipping line charges and to add insult to injury SARS is not paying additional demurrage charges due to their instruction to not inspect non essential goods. These costs were mostly unplanned, but has to be absorbed by our business using our dwindling margins. Our planning the past couple of weeks revolved around how we implement price increases without making it seem like we are price gouging. The best way to view this is to take the US prices and do the conversions: KICKR 4 - $1,200 * R19 (spot rate average) + VAT = R26,220 This places South Africa below the international price. Even if you take the past 4 months of trade Wahoo South Africa has sold the KICKR 4 at a price in Rand below the direct conversion. A price increase is even harder since we are not blind to the fact that many cyclists, Hubbers and enthusiasts will not only lose a part of their income, but many will lose their jobs. If anyone has any questions pertaining to the Wahoo brand, our price increases or even criticism in general please do not hesitate to send me a direct message and I'm happy to answer. Your local Wahooligan Christian
  9. Hoka's Clifton 4 wasn't their best... Fast forward 2 generations the durability is improved, responsiveness as well.
  10. Hello Rogerdias, The KICKR does not allow connections, it only transmits. Your HR needs to be connected to a computer, phone or tablet. In most of these instances you require a Bluetooth belt. Cheers! Your local Wahooligan
  11. 4 weeks free on top of your 2 weeks trial on sufferfest
  12. Exchange rate fell +- 30% against the dollar... On 1'st of May we are forced to implement price increases. So most things you see now is on a form of sale anyway. On the dongle side, it is a free market and if you can get them imported from many places.. As distributors you have to register them with ICASA, support the product etc. From a decade of selling these dongles, not all of them are equal... branded goods should have proper support and work effortlessly. R1035 is quite steep for a dongle, they should sell at R899 incl VAT and there is fair margin built into that price. With that said, pricing will start changing in the next month. Cheers! Your local Wahooligan
  13. RRP on these have been consistent for the last 2 years, CORE - R14,999 SNAP - R7,999 No issues with chance taking I'm aware of in the market.
  14. We can still overnight these to you: https://www.wahoofitness.co.za/wahoo-fitness-usb-ant-dongle-with-extender-cable.html
  15. To Add to the list: Fulgaz (Real maps simulation) TrainerRoad Kinomaps (Real maps simulation) Free trials on these too.

  17. Non original alert: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/helmets/390069/kask-protone-size-m-52-58cm-brand-new Please ensure you buy KASK through an authorised dealer
  18. Hello Nick, I'm following this thread and will also take the info to KASK international to get some thoughts on the sweat issue some are experiencing. We have the complete range of replacement pads for the past couple of years' helmets should you require them, it is also recommended that these get replaced after a lot if use. https://www.kaskhelmets.co.za/accessories/ The Valegro is definitely the version that will allow the most wind to flow through and give some drying effect. You will note that Team INEOS mainly uses this helmet in the mountain sections of the races. As with all our brands we are happy to hear from you via our support team should you require help of have questions on your KASK helmet. Cheers!
  19. Thanks for all the comments. Another nice integration in the Wahoo ecosystem is the compatibility between Wahoo trainers and the ELEMNT range of products. This means you can sync your workouts to you bike pc and then do the session without having to link up to a pc/phone/tablet. More info here: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/09/trainerroad-integration-customize.html Happy to answer any Wahoo related questions. Your local Wahooligan Christian
  20. Hello LLTB, We had a batch of early KICKR 4 units, mid 2018 that had an issue. You will note on the Hub that our fellow Wahooligans rave about our after sales support and issues were resolved speedily. Since then I'm happy to report that we are not seeing any issues with the KICKR 4 units... You can also look at the KICKR CORE. The integration between the ELEMNT BOLT and the KICKR is far beyond any other brand. You can do training sessions, past rides and interval sessions all by connecting your ELEMNT to your KICKR. My view is bias, but I strongly recommend you visit your closest retailer for a demo on the Wahoo Ecosystem... It's different and it's fun. Your local Wahooligan Christian
  21. Not for audiophiles, but what are your thoughts on these? https://aftershokz.com/products/aeropex
  22. Here is a link I use as a distributor to quickly check duties. http://www.ftwonline.co.za/customs/tariffs Some items in SA have bizarre duties... Charge cables 25% / Heart Rate Belts 15% / Phone Covers 30% We also now have a 15% "luxury tax if a watch has Bluetooth built in." I know the frustration on over inflation, but ons some items it is simply unavoidable due to us having to keep the government funded. When in doubt, use the tariff tool to check.
