  3. Hi Shaper, The KICKR CORE is expected to land 1'st October and retail at R13,999 incl VAT. This is a conservatively proposed price as we simply do not know what the exchange rate will do. The good news is that we do not expect the price to be higher than this and at best the price might come down slightly. Should you have a pre-order in place you will receive a refund on the difference when it ships. Key differences to note vs KICKR '18: - Ships without RPM Cadence - Ships without a cassette Will however have the same silent drive that comes with the KICKR 2018
  4. Hello Rudolph, Thanks for considering the Wahoo KICKR. It will be the best buy you ever make Regarding the differences. Wahoo simply made minor improvements on a bullet proof product that does not require much change. The have however made the following changes based on customer feedback: - The KICKR 4 2018 will be silent. Based on feedback from customers this was a major point of improvement to compete against the sound of the NEO. - The heavier flywheel makes the true road inertia a bit more realistic. - Adjusted carry handle for compatibility. The other points you have made already works with the KICKR i.e axle compatibility, Headwind/Climb integration. So whether you buy a KICKR 2017 / 2018 there are minor differences and either way you have a bulletproof, solid, pain cave machine.

We were able to send proof that the OP is indeed from Wildernis, is a loyal customer, Trudie was able to assist (with world class service) in an order he required. We also have proof that Trudie is an actual human, part of our team of 14 staff members, pays her PAYE owns two cats and enjoys Rooibos tea before she starts work... I guess BikeHub is a logical place (I noted he registered in 2014 so he has been here before, ** NOTE - Buycycle did not ask him to register in 2014) where you can voice good and bad service.   8. Great motivation for me to lose some weight... If I can improve on my weight I have a motivator to better myself. I'm Fat... I came last on the hills last week... DEAD last, some bruising to my ego but, I'm fine with that. I'm more motivated now to work harder and lose the flippen fat. Anyway... W/kg feels to me like a quota system.

  10. At R8,999 the KICKR SNAP Wheel on trainer is a good work horse. We have experience stations throughout South Africa with our key retail partners where you can try before you buy. Where are you based? Would love to point you to the closest experience station.

  12. New products may launch... But indoor trainers will only realistically make it to shelves by northern hemisphere winter (October) to capitalise on the Trainer season sales. I would not hold my breath for discounted deals very soon... I would keep an eye on the new product launches.

  15. Hello Shaper, Thanks for the reply. With Wahoo's tech it is not necessary to ship units around, we have a diagnostic tool to check all the "vitals" of the KICKR remotely...Reminds me of "The Matrix". We've done the tests with the OP and see no reason to bring the unit in right now as the test passed every single requirement. Our regional manager for Cape Town will visit the OP this week to do an assessment and see what he can find using his software and Wahoo ELEMNT. I'm confident that we'll find a meaningful solution. If not we'll follow the process and get new unit shipped down.
  16. No need to service the KICKR. The Pain.Cave studio's have been running for a couple of years without any servicing. We have replaces a couple of the drive train belts over the years and the cassettes. Wahoo sent us extra bearings a couple of years back, but we've not needed to change any yet. We have a complete workshop with all the parts that make a KICKR up, even the power supplies. Most used trainer on ZWIFT in South Africa. We're very confident in the brand, the hardware and our local team's ability to sort out any issue. We also appreciate that the biggest coaches in the country use and recommend the product for its accuracy
  18. Hey there Guylrc, Thanks for the thorough writeup on your experience. Form a Wahoo standpoint our local team is very eager to ensue you have a positive experience with the product. Some initial comments: * Bluetooth and ANT+ is not a product owned by any brand currently making indoor training products. Any issue you have on connectivity is not because of Wahoo but simply a function of ANT or Bluetooth protocols. I'm yet to see consistent connectivity on Bluetooth with PCs, for this reason all major software brand recommend ANT+ via a dongle. Again, this is brand agnostic, and any brand promising better connectivity is simply lying. * The same applies to connection to an iPad, iPhone or Tablet. * Trainer power vs Bike Power meter - I always urge users to read objective reviews and findings from professional journalists such as DC Rainmaker. Powertap, Vector, Stages... There are a million power meters out there, all of them great... Wahoo claims +-2% accuracy on a clinical level, the reason i.e Mike Postumus at Scient2Sport uses KICKR. But Wahoo does not offer +-2% accuracy to your chosen power meter. Should either device not be calibrated properly you might have a reasonable difference. There are simply too many variables. a 40% Variable is a bit out of the ordinary. * Spindown form Wahoo might have the latest firmware upgrade included. This is why it is recommended to use this tool. It helps to keep you on the latest firmware at all times. Nothing wrong with the ZWIFT tool included. * Slight adjustment will be required with any IDT when you have a new cassette. Please keep an eye on this, but as this cassette is made to work 100% with Shimano you should not experience any issues. We have 5 Pain.Cave studios with number 6 opening in the Cape region next month, all running Wahoo KICKRS, where we can assist you with any product support.
