  1. Hello Brickleberry, This might be the case with any shop if you're looking for something niche. The online platform feeds from all three shops making the odds of getting what you want easier. With cycling needs getting more diverse every year, keeping stock in each store that will appeal to all forms of cycling and niches is very difficult but not impossible. Like any proper store we are also against any form of grey imports. This limits us to buying what the importers bring in. We're continuously putting pressure on them to get a wider range, but from a Buycycle point of view we're simply too small to make enough noise... We are however working on it.
  2. Done deal, tell me what you want, what you really really want and I will get it ons special for you.
  3. Hello my stuff, We use Pastel partner to export inventory lists and an import application we built to import. We're getting better at it, but we still have some bugs...
  4. It is sad to lose you Ewald, but 100% understandable. I need to note that there is not an online cycling store in South Africa that I'm aware of with live integration into a stock system. That is why you will alway see similar stories. I'm not using this as any excuse, the service in general was pathetic and communication should have been much better. We are definitely taking this up with Jason who managed your order. C
  5. I agree, very poor show. The client was handed over to Jason who did not handle the situation correctly at all. A junior employee, tried to manage the situation and ended up making a mess of it. As manager I take the responsibility for this, we're drafting an operating procedure to try and manage these situations better. C
  6. Glad to know, we're constantly pushing our couriers for faster delivery times.
  7. He is a smart guy with a business that's been around for 28 years. We figured he is the type of businessman we would like to be involved with. I would love to know what the letdown is? Pricing online will remain the best we can possibly find. Thanks!
  8. Hello Ewald, I'm sorry to hear about your experience on the site. Please allow me to explain what might have happened. We have recently partnered with a retailer that has 3 fairly large stores, this simply allows us to have access to more stock and brands to sell. In the past we only relied on suppliers to give us stock sheets to work from. The partnership with the stores are supposed to give us better delivery time and actual stock to ship. The gremlin you experienced is something we are working on at the moment, essentially: - We update our stock sheets daily, but if someone buys the item in the store on that specific date our system still shows as in stock and does not update immediately. - We then resort to the distributors to find the item if the store does not have any left. - If the distributor is also out of stock we try to manage the situation by finding an alternative. In this case we've failed miserably and would like to apologise. We're continuously working at improving the system and rants like this motivates us to be better. I'm working with the team to find out where in the process. Our team will be in contact.
  9. Awesome The price on the snap is actually R1,000 less than the RRP on the Bushido. Given the seamless software perfection Wahoo achieved with its open API I think you should lean towards the SNAP. The electromagnetic flywheel is also a great bonus on the SNAP.
  10. The KICKR Snap pricing is confirmed for South Africa, R11,999 I think it is a competitive price compared to the other trainers in the market. What are your thoughts?
  11. Christian van Zyl, New to the Hub, fairly long in the industry. I'm trying to build a business in a tough market and industry called buycycle.co.za Looking forward to meeting more Hubbers along the way.
  12. Hi Kom, To answer you on some of your comments. - The electromagnetic flywheel on the KICKR solves the "rotating mass" issue that you're referring to. The weight on the flywheel is made to simulate this very accurately. Your setup on the KICKR is more natural than most trainers where you require a block to compensate for height. When setting up your KICKR you can choose your frame size. - The RFLKT+ battery in the unit lasts up to two years due to the fact that it uses Bluetooth LE. This has the same effect on your phone and hardly uses any power. When using apps like Strava, the RFLKT+ simply reflects the data from the application. The power hungry part is you phone using GPS, but with your phone's home screen "locked" your phone should outlive you on a ride. Cheers!
  13. Hey Skinnyone, The price will only include the trainer. TICKR and Blue Speed and Cadence sensors are sold separately. We also have training matts as an optional extra.
  14. We've been playing with the new KICKR Snap at the offices the past month and it feels amazing. What we liked what the minimalism, the ease of set up, it is very quite and most of all I think the magnetic flywheel sell it. It feels realistic. I'm not a road cyclist at all, but Jason in our offices seems to like it a lot. The estimated pricing is set at R12,999 If anyone is in the Pretoria and would like to have a look at it, let us know. We only have one unit in the country at the moment. ETA on the fist shipment is September/October.
