  1. Just out of curiosity, was this dinner the day before or breakfast on the day? If breakfast, how long before your ride? What type of pasta is that- durum wheat, gluten free? I usually eat some pasta at dinner, but hear some guys eat pasta as breakfast.
  2. Yip, now we at last know who "Die Muishond" is.
  3. Missed this one due to a kidney stone. Spend a few days in hospital. Well, I'll do it properly next year.
  4. I just look at the race/ event in a critical way and honestly I cant find any fault or aspect that I think needs improvement. Once again, congrats and a big thank you to you and your team for an awesome event. See you again next year.
  5. Fists and wheels I can handle....it's them guns I'm worried about. It's safer in Hout Bay where they use pepper spray
  6. I've heard from a reliable source that Gerald is not good with weddings. But give him a race and bachelor party, and he will nail it every time.
  7. Yip, it pisses me off. New thing is to get at the back of the previous group and when they start/ move forward, just stay put. Thus he is at the front of his group. Sneaky move.
  8. Well done. Does the ban only apply to Carnival City or other races as well? I would actually love to hear his side of it or his reasoning to justify what he did. I still try to figure out whether this is stupidity or just plain arrogance....or a cry for help perhaps?
  9. Good advice, exactly what I plan to do.
  10. I would say at least 45 mins. The further back you start, might even be an hour or more.
  11. hehe, you have a way of making an ugly word sounds nice- first dwis and now poooosss. Do perhaps have something to make Trump sounds better- just not prez please
  12. Well, no sympathy from me. If I remember correctly you wanted the wind to blow. Kry vir jou.
  13. It's totally behind me why someone would cheat. Is the money or what ever price there is in the vets race really that big?
  14. well, at least the guys behind you appreciate your buffaloness
  15. Not happy with my ride, lost AL at about 30km. Caught a guy with black & green dimension data kit and worked nicely together until we caught another two guys- one with a pink top and the other with a white top. We worked nicely together until the front of B caught us at about 60km mark and stayed with them till the finish. My legs were toast from early on, which is not a good sign for next weekend. Thanks to those 3 guys. When I fell off A bunch I saw a long day ahead of me, especially with the wind.
  16. Well done Gerald and team. everyone said what needs to be said already. looking forward to next year- Feb and Nov again?
  17. Jeez Gerald. I have the utmost respect for you. The way you addresses everybody questions/ issues is absolutely legendary.
  18. Great, really looking forward to this race- it will be my first one
  19. This is a big concern, especially where the long and short route merge. The final 20km or so at R4S this year were a mess with big bunches of very slow (short route) riders chatting away over the whole lane and the only way you can pass is over the white line. Some of them also took offence when you politely request them to move to the left. Traffic in this section was also quite hectic which made it very unsafe to pass. I honestly don't know how race organisers are going to address this. Even during last weeks Satellite classic, cyclists rode on the right of the white line and couldn't give a flying *&^% for marshals and other cyclists telling them to stay on the left.
  20. What a special occasion!! I take my hat of to your dad who attempts his first one at this age. I hope you both enjoys it thoroughly.
  21. My wife was also in BL for Satellite Classic and now in EL for Carnival. Her times this year was basically the same as last year, so the field must be bigger and/or better
  22. Thank you Gerald. I hope AL will be in racing mode. It's my last chance to get a good seeding for CTCT. 94.7 with all its climbing won't do me any favours in that regard.
  23. Thanks for the previous reply Gerald. Just for interest sake- how do you calculate the seeding, since the elites ride 125 and seeded bunches 103? On Febs results the winning time for elites was 2h48 and winning time for 103 looks like 2h21. Winning time for AL was 2h34 and more than half of AL finished in 2h36. What would the seeding index be for an AL rider. If you use the winning time of the 103 route, I assume it must be with a very low Beta then? I'm in AL for this race and expect to finish with the front bunch of AL (depending on the wind). I'm curios how this would affect my seeding, since my seeding took a hammering after Satellite Classic due to a mechanical and Hekpoort- I'm built for the flat races. Emperors gave my seeding index a huge boost, but are now accumulating penalties and won't help much with CTCT seeding.
  24. Yes, this was frikken annoying during Satellite Classic.
  25. Hi Gerald, I've tried to look on Racetec what was the previous years times but couldn't get any info. I assume it wasn't timed by Racetec before? Is it possible to give me the winners time and A bunch time for Febs race?
