  1. I too was very surprised. I was under the impression Di2 sorts all this high low tension screw guessing game out for you. A bike shop told me nope, you still have to go into the app (there's an app for that), and pay around with the gaps between the chain and the mech to get it just right.
  2. https://bike-addict.co.za/products/shimano-ultegra-fc-r8100-12-speed-crankset I don't think so..
  3. They are a sizeable chain I've learnt. They one I've visit most regularly is in bedfordview, where the concept spez store is.
  4. Seeing as I couldn't get my chocolate croissant yesterday, I went somewhere else to get it today! I should start doing more long rides so I can earn these a bit...
  5. That you thought you were faster than the train!
  6. It was delicious, but I had to work for it. Riding to Befordview from the 'Ton is very lumpy.
  7. Decided to just go solo. Me with my thoughts.
  8. Want one. Giant only getting stock locally in August 2023. Will have to wait patiently.
  9. Hello Hubbers! I've had the misfortune of a few dropped chains, causing scuff marks on the crank as shown in the photo. 2 questions- can I be polished or repaired to as new condition? And, if there a protective aftermarket film I can apply? Thanks!
  10. What!?

  12. To the newbies who haven't don the route before, here you can check it out on GC. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/17398053

  14. THREAD REVIVE! Who is racing on Sunday? The weather forecast isn't looking favourable for fair weather riders like me. Seeded in AL but most certainly won't be racing there.
  15. To add more fuel to the fire - Wout is becoming a dad again, whereas MVDP has no children of his own.
  16. Long ride to make up for a pretty wasted week. Did some R4S road recce and OMW, the roads are back towards Carnival are shot. I'll probably have lost the bunch by then, but it's going to be pothole dodging.
  17. Small man symdrome maybe. He's a powerhouse, he's proven it regularly during the CX season. But the fact that 2 of the best bike riders, not CX racers, pitch up for a world champs? Count yourself lucky if you're in the same camera shot.
  18. Commentators mentioned 40k people. That's stadium level crowds, for an 70 minute long bicycle race between 2 people? No wonder they ask steep appearance fees. Sven Nys is just jealous that he couldn't bag as much cash back in his day.
  19. I truly hope it was insured, because there's a sign of forced entry, so they I have a good feeling they'll pay out. Unless leaving it on display in your car might be twisted by your insurer. You never know with these *******.
  20. Jokes side, those guys actually caught up real good. The gap was 30s at a stage, but by the end it was in the low 10s. None of those riders are slow, but the sheer class and power of the big guns were on display again today, that they are just like their tennis counterparts hors categorie.
  21. Read my impression one post above.
  22. I have the other brand, Magene. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I don't know whether it's just me, but it's not working as well as I'd have hoped. Sure, it picks up vehicles and warns you, but I feel that sometimes, especially if there are lots of vehicles, the radar cannot keep up. Sometimes it only warns me literally as the vehicle is about to pass, or worse, no warning at all, which is worthless. Sometimes it even warns you of a vehicle that was never there. I've noticed if I ride alone, the problem doesn't seem to be as obvious, but riding in a bunch makes the identification and warning of vehicles more sluggish than one would hope. If you buy the Magene, you get only one mount but a seat post few adapters (the supplied adapters don't work with my Giant seatpost, so I got a mate's Garmin one and it works well). Being lazy by nature, I don't enjoy swopping between bikes, but the supplier doesn't have seatpost mounts in stock now, so will buy a second and third etc later. I don't regret buying the unit. It gives me peace of mind, especially when cycling back into a busy town when you've been out in the sticks. Think of it like a blindspot monitor on your car - sure, it makes it easier not to bump into someone, but o boy will you regret not turning your head around just to make sure there is no one there.
  23. Stages make pretty skinny electronics, along with 4iiii. I just bought a 4iiii crank for my Giant road bike where it was pretty tight already, and it worked out perfectly. However, if you do consider 4iiii, get the GEN 3. The GEN 1 looks like a fat R5 coin, whereas the Gen 3 looks a lot more like the Stages.
  24. If it means anything, this was Bicycling's Bike of the Year, so if you get this one I believe you should be satisfied.
