  1. @Spinnekop if you hear anything further, will you please send details viz which police station etc? We got bikejacked a short while back.
  2. Mushroom plug or stitch with dental floss and seal with super glue with an internal patch over stitching. The latter will outlast the tyre.
  3. I made the same transition and found it remarkably comfortable. Not having to service pivot bearings is a big plus.

  5. This is an awesome frame. If you wanted to, you could get it in at well under 10kg.
  6. I got an advert from Evobikes yesterday that contained 26 er tyres.
  7. What is 750 D in inches? I've never been good at math😉
  8. My medical aid, Momentum, has always provided me with insurance for overseas events without any issues. I am not sure if that is because I am a normal member though.
  9. South Industries is what I have had great experience with, and Anton Bosman from Craft Cycles Sunninghill to build is the best wheel builder around imo.
  10. @TyronLab this will get you from Bapsfontein to Bronkhorspruit on good dirt roads. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38372552
  11. 2) I would personally go for a carbon 2nd hand Spez frame. I owned the brand for a number of years and found that alu fatigue is a very real thing. My frames all got replaced under warranty, however, buying 2nd hand does not give you that opportunity. Carbon does not have the fatigue issue. My 2c
  12. Update - Breedts Nek is not in great condition. Even the short side is bad. Everything is walkable though
  13. Awesome. Thanks for the response. Frame looks like the business for this sort of build.
  14. @MudLark Where are you with this build a couple of years down the line? Still riding it etc?
  15. I have the same issue. Specialized trail type shoes work for me.
  16. At that height you will fall into the large range 9/10 times.
  17. My wife and I did some bikepacking in the Rhodes area last week. This is on the Tiffendell Tinahead Traverse (TTT) before the big storm hit last week. This is the old military road between South Africa and Lesotho to prevent stock theft. It runs right along the escarpment. Amazing views.
  18. Definitely safe to cycle alone. Only risk is if you have a fall down. You might wait for another cyclist or car to come past for a while.
  19. Gauteng is showing off at the moment.
  20. We've ridden in Lesotho a couple of times and not had any safety issues other than cars/trucks. Great place to ride.
  21. This and the length of the steerer also limits your potential buyer base.
  22. Is this the road that is 'technically' closed with the yellow bollards around the ditches?
  23. Sadly what you say is so true. I've reported one issue 4 times with no resolution or feedback.
