  1. And did it look properly set up? Fork facing the correct way? I really do hope some one that can ride the thing hard decides to spend the cash and take it up Hoogenkraal / Conties and see how long it survives
  2. Such a shame the bikes are not yet available, imagine how cool it would be if someone did the K2C on one of these. A picture of it going over the finish line will probably do wonders from a marketing perspective
  3. Have you checked in your spam folder?
  4. https://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/mountain-bikes/hardtail/product/review-cannondale-trail-5-49964/ Think this might be the review on the bike
  5. Do we have to wait for our consultant to send out the updated info, or where would we be able to access the new rules?
  6. Not sure all I can say I think I was seeded on a 55, and that gave me a start time in 2018 of before 8.
  7. Precisely, and then you don't know how much climbing is still left, and back of my mind I was hesitant to enjoy the downhills as I don't know if there was maybe another surprised around the next corner.
  8. Really had fun, the second bit did challenge my legs a bit more, as I am sure I would have enjoyed the trails a bit more with some extra power left in my legs, but had to stop counting the amount of times I went wow, this is amazing. Only other thing I should have done, was to actually put the route profile on my top tube to have an idea what was still coming, that last climb up to the 10km to go did push me in the red
  9. How did the sweeping go this time around? Was checking behind me every now and then to see if I could see you guys rounding the corner.
  10. and this after also riding yesterday, well done
  11. Signed up for the 63km, started a bit to fast so backed off a bit knowing there was still lots of km to go There are so many positives with the race - Amazing trails really challenging with single track heaven, challenging with a bit of skills required (making sure you get past the bolders and rocks without hitting your pedals, etc - organisation was top notched (the self seeding went generally well, directions were on point, more than enough marshalls all over the route, etc.) - Waterpoints, more than enough that were properly stocked with great support encouraging riders - Views, wow just wow feel like you riding on a floating trail over the valley - A "goodie" bag that actually had things in it you could use, like baby potatoes, squirt bottles, etc. One the challenging side, the second part did come with a lot of additional muddy parts, which is probably to be understood after all the rain, but did make some areas very slippery and was just thinking of my drive chain. Also the first bit was for sure the jewel of the race, and it is probably a nice that they did not do the thing where only the long route get to experience some of the most amazing parts. Edit: added more stuff
  12. Seeding won't be as high as you would have liked, and the wind is going to be pumping.. with the chance that it will switch from a south east to north west half way lol, anything better than this is a bonus
  13. Did not receive the email, but did receive the sms
  14. Thanks, looking forward to the race
  15. Did any get a mail or update on the event?
  16. Any tips of what to take along? Need to start packing tonight, we staying over there on Friday night. Other than the normal stuff
  17. Maybe it can be requested that our neighboring countries are not classified as "international", ie Namibia, Botswana, Zim and Lesotho.
  18. edit: question already asked by others
  19. Thinking about the reverse loop, doubt it will happen as that would mean that the roads on the M3 / Nelson Mandela will need to be closed for longer, but that would really change the WHOLE dynamic of the race.
  20. Having FOMO for this race, seems I will have to wait till next year to try it out
  21. #thisisgoingtogetinteresting #rainweather
  22. I see they send out a tweet that they sold out. Was not sure that it was going to happen, but lots of luck for them and all that signed up
  23. Chilly start maybe to the day, but holding thumbs.
