  1. Try Lourens at Cycle Centre, (021) 8244041. Maybe phone him first.
  2. One area that could still be the culprit is where the crank 'spider' fits onto the blades. There's a special tool that can tighten it. Ask your bike mechanic. Good luck.
  3. Have you played around with different (better) bibs and saddles? And is your setup optimal? It's a rather expensive excersise upgrading to a soft bike just to find out its not really making a difference on the naught. If you like riding your hardtail, try keeping it.
  4. It saddens me to hear of this fellow cyclist's death, and my heart goes out to his family. I do think however that this article was written a bit one sided. Mountainbiking in our (Tygerberg) hills is being portrayed as a very dangerous sport. Yes, there are challenging drop-offs, ruts, rocks, off-chamber turns and A-frames, but that's part of a MTB trail. Personally I don't think putting a warning board at each of the above obstacles would lower the incidence of accidents. You can not predict where Fate would strike. Accidents Do happen. Don't get me wrong. I'm not insensitive to this person or his family, but to blame Hoogekraal trail (or suggesting it) is unfair.
  5. Meerendal wines wants to expand their brand in Europe, hence all the sponsorships, especially to European teams. Not a bad move, imho.
  6. Cycling is not only about Mountainbiking , a lot of us do both, especially the first few months of the year. It would have been nice to have a road cycling body/club as well, to help the guys with matters like this.
  7. Was in the A bunch as well. Thanks Jorrie for jumping in the cop car and helping us back on track. Was a nice, hard day out in the saddle. Lets hope the guys can learn from the feedback for next year.
  8. Spot the irony in the song that starts playing on the radio in the last five seconds of the cellphone video ..
  9. Stereotyping comes so easily. That`s why I despise these video-doucebags even more
  10. Ry Parys toe en terug
  11. Well said ..
  12. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Cloudy and windstill. Did a 2:48 Jip, there was carnage in %. The sandy patches caught a lot of guys. In middle section of the gravel part it looked like the first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan... bodies everywhere. But all in all, it was a lovely day. Well organized.
  13. Leopard tank doing an emergency stop at full speed.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gjl07tunWsY
  14. Sterkte Anton.
  15. Fritz got the nick of it in WW2
  16. Glad you feel better
  17. @ Wyatt: "Ja, I just read it, according to that he needs to suip like a fish and piss out a clot" Jip. In short yes, that's the best advice :-)
  18. Go Google ' Hemorrhagic cystitis ' Or here's a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemorrhagic_cystitis Blood in urine Can occur with a UTI. I just don't think its necessary to send poor Francois into a state of panic about his hematuria just yet. I think he should first complete his course of antibiotics, and then be re-evaluated after that, and referred on if the hematuria persists.
  19. Ok Francois, go to a urologist there in your area, and come and tell us what he said.
  20. If you were diagnosed with an urinary tract infection, and put on antibiotics, it`s acceptable to have blood in the urine (just like a throat infection can also be bloody and red). I would suggest you complete the antibiotics, and repeat the urine dipstix in two weeks to see if there`s still blood present. If so, it should be worked up to see whats wrong.
  21. Any update on the condition of the surface? Is there still a lot of mud?
