    Who remembers?

This were the very first song that I heard playing from a tape-deck - which my dad installed one Saturday into our Opel Record station wagon. Used it as my mobile ringtone for years.... currently on our 'car' YouTube playlist. Still scrambling to find my phone when it starts to play.
  2. Damien Gaudin must be the epitome of tough as nails. Last 40km of Tro Bro Léon is a hour with some excellent entertainment! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B56fnJkJ8LQ
  3. No such problems yet here (yet) A bit off topic, but a ironically SA related: Look at this map location: https://www.google.com.my/maps/@4.1611191,100.6318529,5414m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en That jetty's are used to load coal from ships & the black heaps include in a large part South African coal to generate electricity. The x-Eishkom engineer that commissioned the first plant (and is back for the second) told me that that these plants generate electricity cheaper per kwh with the imported coal than what Eskom do with the same coal in SA. No way for me to check that, but he was not the type of guy throwing fake news around.
  4. Tuesday's city night ride. Somebody decided to light some trees.... mesmerizing
  5. On Friday the current prime minister Najib Razak announced the dissolution of Parliament to start the process for the 14th General Election. Almost overnight thousands of flags appeared, most noticeably of "Barisan Nasional" ("National Front"), the current ruling coalition, that have quite a fight on hand to stay on top in the "mother of all elections" - The issues around 1Malaysia make Zuma look like an amateur. Had my first "ice cream bun", had to try it it... think of it as a spongy, bulkier version of your dry tasteless cone
  6. To a quality source of Coconut Shakes... absolute addicted to it [emoji9] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

  8. KL is a lovely place around Chinese New Year. Everyone is in a holiday mode & happy. Just one of those evenings when it just awesome to be on a bike. Highly recommended if you are ever in KL on a Tuesday evening. KL launched a lot of the blue cycle lanes last week. In my opinion a brilliant contribution to the infrastructure. 9. Be on the lookout for Fenton the Labrador as well
  10. So that Sle(n)t stretch is not gravel any more.
  11. To the emergency entrance (trainer partner's collarbone gets upgraded) Must admit I had 60 seconds of real panic: He passed out while standing - I caught him, but then end up trying to wave cars to stop with my hands behind his back... while embracing him . I seriously need to be a bit better prepared in terms of hospital options/locations/number etc. And carry my own ID.
  12. A couple of km's closer to Chinese New Year:
  13. Agree. That was 20 years ago, young with insecurities, wrong side of town, wrong night, wrong emotional state and not in a group/with friends. Today I'm at a point where just assume other people know me and I don't need the associated explaining every time that i'm OK with it, about my very close gay family members & friends...
  14. An attempt to lighten the mood - a personal experience on why I spend my first post split 'single' night sober: The night when the shite went South, I was still the gentleman and told the x to stay in the house as an interim arrangement and I will find accommodation - it was 23:00. Found a cheap hotel in the wrong side of town, drop my backpack and went looking for a bar (probably the last place where you would usually find me). Found one down the road, storm in and immediately downed my first beer at the counter. Midway trough the second beer I started to read trough information sheets stacked on the counter - and when the second one also had a very non-heterosexual target market my suspicion suddenly kicked in. Turned around for the first time - to see two guys close dancing on a very romantic song. "Pyl uit n boog" - back to my crappy cheap hotel room. Spend the night sober & miserable. And alone edit - spelling
  15. This, especially the SO. Did the course 15 years ago with my second/current wife. No magic trick, but help a lot with the winging. Still amazed today with what personal flaws I can get away / freedom I have by making sure I focus a little bit on her priority love language(s). It make it light work, but constant. Weird thing is that I received the course from a dominee that is now divorced.... Maybe just a warning that is not 100% science....but indeed partial winging it / proof that you have zero control over your partner's emotions that might gets out of sync that side... i.e. luck
  16. Just be prepared for an extremely aggressive terminology used in the letter delivered to you. - Its only legal speaking and most like not even close to your real word scenario. It would have nuked me if a lawyer friend did not warn me. Landy, I recognize myself in your scenario/posts. My thoughts are with you. One thing is certain, things will get better, but might take some time. For me that happened only after I stop fighting it emotionally/internally.
  17. Awesome pic. I tip my hat for you sir, well done!

  20. Past the place that gave Kuala Lumpur ("muddy confluence") it's name: Where the Klang and Gombak rivers meet. These days a concrete water fountain extravaganza that is lighted at night. Also to a roadside stall with the best piesang (pisang here) bread ever. Kopi ping (ice coffee) goes well with it. Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
  21. Is that blue spokes custom sprayed, or of the shelve in blue?
  22. Used the once in a lifetime opportunity to attend F1. Enjoyed it a lot. Walking over the circuit from stand F to the main straight was definitely the highlight for me. Very impressed with the circuit.... a bit smoother than Killarney. There are now and then a "cycle Friday evening" and will definitely try to attend one of them. Huge amount of saffas on the stand and was nice to chat in Afrikaans for a change.
  23. I follow this Rolling Alpha blog that have a good number of articles related to crypto currencies. 99% of the time I have no idea what he is talking about This Tether article finish with a comment that really put me at ease:
  24. Hope there is a nice, conservative SA top with a small SA flag I must admit this one http://www.weardirect.co.za/south-africa-black-2017-cycling-jersey is definitely the best 'big flag' one I had seen yet.
  25. loads of "demolición" happening there I was actually once advised after a personality test for career choices that i would do good in "bomb disposal officer" or "demolition officer"... shout if you need help
