  1. mine has worked fine for 2 months now, so safe to say you can go for it.
  2. The sytem has been in place for long enough now to know that you cannot get more than 100 points without a HR monitor. [events excluded]
  3. Nothing inconsistent about the allocation. We just need to understand how to work it properly. See post above from Lurch. I did 2 rides this weekend. 1 slow 4 hour and 1 higher intensity 2 hour ride. 600 points each > target achieved for the week.
  4. I have been using TR for about a year and it was great. Recently moved over to Zwift and have to say I am enjoying it much more. You can still build your planned workouts, or select any of their workouts. The time just goes by much faster on Zwift. TR does have loads more workouts, but not sure how often 1 would use those, and alot of them are very similar.
  5. well thats deserved and more so after the conditions you guys had at the Sani.
  6. Solid stuff !! my @ss has been soo lazy, barely getting to 450 / week the last 6-8 weeks. TSB swinging the wrong way. But being "fresh" has helped to record a few new peaks across the range, so something good coming out.
  7. would be nice if their payment system worked properly... failed on a few attempts so I gave up.
  8. Basically a bit of everything... good quality glass is the best investment but if you not very serious about it then just get the 3 lens bundle. You can upgrade when you feel the need to and budget allows.
  9. Well this seems to be working. Hopefully no issues with the payback.
  10. Welcome. What do you enjoy shooting and do you need the 3 lenses ? The 50mm f1.8 is a handy lens, but quite cheap to buy on its own. The 55-250mm doesn't really get used that much unless you do a lot of wildlife / bird. Why not get the 800D with the 18-55 for R12k ? Then buy whatever lens you would need at a later stage.
  11. Great, thanks for the heads up. Will go through everything and make sure they on par. thanks again
  12. I think I am going to give it a go. Just spoke to them again now and they have put a decent package together. Just short of R500 cheaper than my current package. Zero excess on portable items - camera's / bikes etc & 10% discount on my life policies.
  13. change to the high performance category, this will solve your issues. Your goal will increase to 1200 points but it will be easier to achieve. https://www.discovery.co.za/portal/individual/vitality-fitness-table-elite-sep-2016
  14. Need some feedback on the quality of service from Disco Insure ? They have quoted me about R300 cheaper but concerned about the service, and more so the tracker unit for driving. I often break the rules that they have pointed out, speed, braking etc. Does this only count towards the cash back, and will it affect my premiums going forward ? I fear that they will use your history, point you out as a high risk driver then nail you on the premium increase.
  15. Not sure if I have shared this one before. Too lazy to go through all the previous pages.
  16. For me, it really comes down to personal choice. if you look at each system at their respective price points, they deliver pretty much the same results when used within their limits.
  17. at a budget of 5k, you cannot get a body and the few different lenses you would need. It is alot more compact no doubt, but not much saving in cost if you going for the smaller system. Some cases actually more expensive.
  18. while it can be done, it just adds to the cost, and not everyone wants to carry around a bunch of kit and accessories when on the go.
  19. First problem you will experience is that 45mm is too short for wildlife. You do have the option of buying longer lenses if needed. For portraits it will work fine. Astro photography can be done but you won't get too many great shots with any of the entry level cameras. You could look at a Bridge Camera if you want an all-in-one package, something like this may be a better choice - https://www.ormsdirect.co.za/canon-powershot-sx60-hs
  20. thanks Brooks. Hole in the Wall, small fishing village / popular holiday destination just after Coffee Bay in EC.
  21. Hole in the Wall
  22. The Witches.
  23. Tugela Falls under the rising clouds.
  24. Just take a pic of the lens / glass etc and give them a basic description of it, age and condition and they will give you an estimate trade value. I have done a lens with them from Durban. Was really easy. Mail used@orms.co.za , they will also arrange courier collection for you.
