  1. Also having problems with GC activities not syncing from Saturday and Sunday.
  2. nope, some folks are still complaining about the changes each week. imo majority is probably those who have taken the watch, thinking that 1 Saturday ride a week will get them a free R6k watch. Now that they have to actually get of their a$$es and do something, it becomes Disco's problem... If you think the forum is bad, check out the replies on Facebook. Really shocking and disgusting to see how people behave towards this.
  3. If its a problem on Disco's side then we would all be having the same issue. No issues going into mine, just checked again. I am on android.
  4. maybe a problem with your phone, service provider or the app needs to be updated. Used mine this morning, no issues and can download vouchers.
  5. A 2 year old on Madikwe. This guy was in perfect condition, and I got to spend time with him in some of the most amazing light. Will share a few more in a few days. Canon 5D3+Canon 70-200mk2 @ f2.8, iso3200,1/800sec
  6. Spotted Eagle Owl. Canon 5D3+Canon 70-200mk2 @ f2.8, iso12800,1/1000sec
  7. just looks like dust on your sensor
  8. so now the strange part, I can't log in but it is still syncing the activities. oh well...
  9. need to have a test done soon and get back to the swing of things. lotsa improvement to be done in the coming months.
  10. off topic a bit, but anyone experiencing issues with Garmin Connect mobile app ? I updated the app on android based phone, and now I cant log in. Tried on both phone's but still not luck. The desktop version works fine so just a bug in their software. Anyone know how to work around this ?
  11. Also stayed on 600 but only did 600 last week. Don't think they have any set way of working this out. We'll probably be back on 1200 in 6-10 weeks.
  12. Care to share your settings? Astro does get vert tricky, and you really need to get in as much light as possible. Alot more difficult with entry level equipment but not impossible. Ideally you would want to use a full frame body and a fast lens - f2.8 or better. You will be shooting at high Iso so as the full frame handles noise better you will end up with a much cleaner image. Also need to just play around with shutter speeds ranging from about 10-30 seconds. Anything longer and you will get movement of the stars. It's rewarding when you get it right, enjoy!
  13. So I managed to pull off 2x 30 min sessions in the short time I was home to get my goal. Now I can continue to enjoy the bigger cash back benefits for a while longer...
  14. Yes for landscape, close down your aperture abit, but you would need to shoot on a tripod or increase ISO so you don't get any camera shake. F11 - F16 generally works well for landscape scenes where you want the entire scene to be I'm focus.
  15. you could use it if you link it to my Garmin account I did need some time off the bike though, it did help. Put in a quick IDT session now and will try another tomorrow morning to get my goal done. 300points for 30 min vigorous is easy work
  16. And this was a hair raising moment, I got to watch my first successful lion hunt. There were 2 lionesses who took down this warthog, they executed it perfectly and it took all of about 5 minutes for them to get the pig. The warthog put up a serious fight and tried to get away a few times, but it finally gave up after about 40mins of being held down by the 2 lions. The squeals and cries really get you but this is nature and only the strong survive. This image is the full frame, using a 70D + 150-600 Sigma at 435mm, f7.1, iso640, 1/2000sec
  17. I spent the last week in Madikwe Game Reserve, Helps having a sibling who works at a 5* Lodge... Had great sightings of Lions almost everyday, but missed out on the Wild Dogs and Cheetah which was high on my list. Here's a sunset shot which I had to do handheld, single image with 5D+16-35, iso125, 1/10sec, f22 for the sunburst.
  18. This current week is going to be the first time in months that I miss my goal... Away on holiday till tomorrow, then travel for business from Tuesday morning till Saturday so throws my training totally off track... No cycling for 2 weeks, gonna go crazy
  19. I've been smiling too. I have had the card for just about a year now and until recently I didn't use it much. Now that I see all the benefits, cash back and miles with it I use it for everything and just pay the total monthly.
  20. These complaints are really getting out of hand hey... The problem with people in this country is that they want everything handed to them. Free smoothies and free apple watch for manually adding workouts, or thinking that 1 Saturday morning activity is going to get you your goal is just wrong. It would be interesting if there was stats to show who's the ones complaining the most... Couch potatoes or the fitter more active crowd.
  21. I do yes, did an easy 30mins on the IDT in HR Z1 this morning. I know It probably should have been more like an hour but decided to sleep for an extra 45mins
  22. forgot to check my RHR this morning, but yesterday it was at 56, normal resting is 48. It generally takes 3-4 days for me to start feeling good again after a serious effort like Sunday.
  23. I haven't been feeling the best so that's why. But I definitely still feel broken 2 days later, legs are still @#$%.
  24. Was easy for me to smash some points on the weekend, rode Tour Durban at about 90% of my heart rate. Avg was 172 for 3h26
  25. That's exactly what I do, but other managers in our office insist their staff work until they dead. So the germs just spread around the office and everyone gets it.
