  1. hahaha. you are too kind. When we going for a road schlepp?
  2. the SG carcasses have 4-ply sidewalls including a snakeskin layer compared to the non-SG carcasses. That makes SG sidewalls quite a bit stiffer, stiff enough that I once didn't realize i had essentially atmospheric pressure in my front tyre when i left home, until a turned a corner, and the tyre went all squishy..
  3. the door to a follow-up movie was left wide open: that explanation she gave to the daughter as to why daddy was no longer around. that's a big question unanswered in the movie: what did he mean she was on the wrong side?
  4. The focus on linguistics and critical nuances in language we take for granted, was refreshing and very though provoking.
  5. what about the impact of the particulate matter impinging upon the hard surface of the rocket? At very high wind speeds with low atmospheric density than the pressured exerted on a surface would be dominated by by the particulates entrained in the air. Unless the particles are just so light anyway, the momentum transfer, even summed across the exposed surface of the rocket facing the wind, is negligible.... Also, with rockets taking off, the take off speed is surprisingly low. this lower speed coincidences at low altitudes where air pressure is highest. As the rocket ascends and lightens in mass, it also reaches altitudes with lower air pressure. I can see the plastic wrap cabriolet working.
  6. hahhha love that .gif. one thing is for sure: internally, the giro is not a fullface.
  7. Is this your personal experience or hopeful observation? Dont think it will matter much in the end: i'm already half deaf
  8. binged Beyond. had promise. Good enough as a filler i guess. One seriously exotic looking actress in the cast. ermahword. Definitely does not look swedish.
  9. Home Season 6 locked and loaded.
  10. Bought these almost a year ago now, and been running intermittently due to various injuries. But the other day, I decided to run in another pair of trainers, which made me realize just how good these ONs really are. Best running shoe I've ever run in.
  11. Watch it. Fair warning, it can be a bit of a drag IMO. I'm more an action jackson type of viewer, but in hindsight, the character development is important later on, and gives the series quite some dramatic depth. Warning #2: culmination of arcs is swift! i genuinely liked the show. it was fresh, and very captivating. Such a good story was told. (I think i've said that before!) I read an article which explored the outrage the ending generated in the USA. To avoid spoilers, i'll have to refer to the storyline somewhat obliquely: the outrage stems from teh fact the ending was aired round about the anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy. Some nerves were struck, and outrage was broadcast. The article tried to counterbalance the outrage by saying that was not the intent of the that scene in the ending, but that it should rather be interpreted as how much worse was averted by the collective effort of essentially a bunch of misfits. That aside, you are right: the ending is open to broad interpretation. I've watched another of Brit Marling's movies, Another Earth. It wasn't as evocative as The OA, but again, intriguing story telling.
  12. Intriguing end to the latest season of Man in the High Castle. The presentation of the Reich's ambitions are both interesting and horrifying compared with the american hope which seems uncouth and borne from youthful arrogance. The presentation of the japs is by far the most unsavoury. The possible origin of these films, which both the japs and the nazis covet as much as the american resistance, has come into focus somewhat, and its rather unexpected given the period in which the series is set. I haven't read the book, so idea where this is going. given that the series is 'loosely based' on the novel, might mean the stories diverge significantly.
  13. one of the most intriguing shows I've binged on in a while. Seriously wtf at times, if not most of the time. But a captivating story. I think its one that will polarise viewers. Great performances by relatively unknown actors among the familiar ones.
  14. The OA. well ok then.
  15. New season of The Man in the High Castle has started. stoked! S01 was a bit draggy, but very interesting in general.
  16. Are you serious? Another tragedy within the same family? Poor mom.
  17. liking Frequency and Designated Survivor. But damn, wish i could binge it to conclusion.
  18. As an individual contributor; facilitating lack of cycling access to legit cycling trails.
  19. This character allegedly caught in the act. Comments of FB suggest this is not the first time. Probably will claim he didn't get the memo...
  20. i think Rude Dude and that intellectual that is The Glen trail saboteur, should both get signed up by Sanparks for 30 days of trail maintenance duty until they learn some manners. ok, maybe less days for Rude Dude, but that other character needs to get the full build treatment.
  21. While the performance bump might be due to a dual chip configuration, there's the distinct possibility the RX490 might be using HBM2 which will unlock the RX480s potential. The 480 chip is stupid strong, and been badly hobbled by HBM1. Given how well the card performs, i doubt the dual GPU card will run hot as it's not that power hungry. But as you said, even if it runs hot, its nothing a 3rd party HSF can't fix. Most times, the stock works just perfectly, but like a brand new fork that needs a service out of the box, removing the stock HSF and re-applying thermal grease does wonders. The thermal tape they often use is pretty kuk.
  22. fun write-up.love the vivid anatomical references. Who was pissant in red?
  23. been tempted for a while now, but i'll hold out for either the RX490 which is purportedly launching soon as a stopgap to the delayed Vega, or i'll just suck it up and wait for the latter.
  24. the wall with the blue suffered a tan line after roughly the same time, 3 years, right where the veranda casts a shadowline during the day. Not funny when asked if i ran out of paint
  25. i should show you this blue exterior paint from plascon....
