  1. @Bos and Justin: Do I need serious trail shoes for the Xterra?
  2. To ur 1st ? is it re the Lites? 2nd ? No.
  3. Do they have to be sporty types
  4. @Napalm, There is not a lot of events around so beggars cant be choosers. There is only 2 I think in Gauteng, Xtterra and Sasol. Agree with Boss, ditch the T-Shirt and even the medal or give us a choice and if we want shirts and medals then we pay extra. At the Sasol one the T-shirts were Nursery School Yellow (U know the type they give the ankle biters so that if they get lost you can spot them easy)....my gardner didnt even want it.
  5. Thanks
  6. Doing my second X tri this w/e, my only question is how do u get to Buffelspoort Dam? I know it is close to where Magalies Monster starts but I always get lost on the way there
  7. I use a pair and it is really light less than 100 grams for the lites. The Lumens these lites pump out is enough for any ride and you get 2 sets meaning 4 lites, 2 for the bike and 2 for the helmet. Do not agree with Dibles re Battery life, used them on Desert dash and they lasted. I once tested mine and they lasted 9 hours and then started to loose brightness not just go dead like some of the stuff like Knog, Blackburn etc. Also u get enough batteries with it, think about 6. Also comes with all the mounts, chargers, cigarette liter charger, neoprene pouch etc. Only Ouch is the price.
  8. @thys will take some shortly and send
  9. Used Esi grips and did not like the circumference as it was a bit small and not shaped and contoured, I got the Giant Grips (They sell for cheap, availabe everwhere even Sportsmans and are more contoured) and they did the trick for me. they also cut easier than other grips. Make sure that the inside of the grip is not made of a different harder material that makes cutting them difficult.
  10. Would suggest u use ur current pedals in the race as ur used to it. Dont want to have to race with new pedals on unfamiliar terrain in race conditions. Later in your training rides on familair terrain etc start introducing clip ins to make you comfortable with them.
  11. Black Seat, one ride in the mud and the white seat is toast.
  12. Hey Yang another one! as I said U da MAN! Everyone else: the guy that steals them operates in the Roodepoort (Little Falls, Strubens area) and now Fairlands it seems.
  13. Congrats, hope the fun is worth the pain you are experiencing today! Certailnly The medal makes up for that.
  14. Two of my favourite players last night Keane and Henry, so just wanted to see a good game, but after that incident Henry has lost serious credibility.
  15. With them recording finishers manually it is going to take longer. Any idea when they will show the hilites on TV?
  16. Agree she is a beaut, one thing to add might be a blue seat clamp
  17. Come on you seriuosly think that yesterday's race was of a better standard in terms of organisation, marshalling and route? But if that's your opinion then we can agree to disagree.
  18. The marshalling was poor and there was manual timing. The route was boring, but hey the end chute with the crowd was nice, maybe organisers should go and talk to Fritz Pienaar on how to put on a MTB race.
  19. I cancelled with Cyclesure, the 5% excess and additional 10% (For theft and Hijacking) that I had to forfeit when my bike was stolen left me worse off. I had to get cheaper bike than what I was insured for. So what should you do say a R50k bike Costs R58k so you can replace ur bike at its true value?. Now with Garrun Group, I at least pay less than Cyclesure.
  20. My Max HR has not changed in about 3 years. I had the tests done etc so it was all scientific. Now in the last week I have on 2 occasions gone over my max when previously it never happened. The increase over the max is 5%. Any Ideas?
  21. Thanks for the advice all, one thing I do know from this experience is that the Stinger After Sun Soother really works
  22. True, got a call from the guys at the store, stock has arrived.
  23. Mr M, Capestorm in Clearwater Mall doesn't not have doesn't know.....
  24. Got toasted in the overcast conditions on Saturday and rad006 got me the After Sun cream. The next day the burn was gone and so was redness. Also used the Athlete cream, I am a recent convert to shammy cream, gives a sting if there is open skin but then quickly it is gone and then relief!
  25. The problem is that the sun block with high protection that I use is sticky and then all the dirt sticks to you, Anyone know a product that is not sticky but gives adequate protection?
