  1. @Saint here is the link: http://www.spectrumsport.co.za/Prestige_Ultra_Info_20101216.pdf
  2. Oh Yeah the Clocks in VA. The Red and Black arms are basically used for Intervals so u can go on Black 60 Red 30. So then the Black Arm becomes ur timing arm and u ignore RED, and Vice versa. U'll hear guys say to each other in the pool Go on Black 60. Hope it explains it.
  3. Saint, there is no better way to learn than to do it, I strongly suggest you race before u do IMBC.Not sure where u stay but do the VD Bijl Tri in Dec or even an Energade sprint or Compendium in KZN. U will learn more doing it than asking and trying to remember who said what when u are in race mode. Some advice though: Get a coach/Training Programme for ur worst discipline. Get Training Partners. Read the "Triathlete's Training Bible by Joe Friel" Follow a training programme. 10 weeks to go Good Luck
  4. Wwhat is the smallest chainrings that u can fit on a standard DA7800 crank?
  5. Loved Ninja Warrior and I survived a Japanese Game show. Takeshi was a bit low budget and the last stage with those dinky dodgems was stupid.
  6. Anyone know of one in Gauteng? Sori Niklas 4 the Hijack.
  7. Thanks for the info. @Grodpad what i would do is say ur buddy is part of the team event, R240 it is a RIP OFF to get in.
  8. Doing this for the First time, so what can I expect? What I have heard is that T1 is quite long...a long run with the bike? The bike leg is a 2xloop with quite a steep climb to the turnaround point?
  9. Ok I'm in as well.
  10. Its part of the Xterra and Monster route so go and explore, start by the dam side and there is a route that goes towards that new houses but then I think ur gonna hit farmgates, there is a dirt Road that takes u to Breedts. So in short nice riding and if you get hot jump in the dam-it's one of the cleanest.
  11. @ Steves; are u kidding.....no more twist shifters
  12. Had Triggers and changed to twist. Wont change back because: [*]Find it shifts quicker than pushing the triggers [*]If you crash it is less stuff that can break [*]Less crowded cockpit [*]Limited wear and tear [*]Doesnt get all gunked up and dirty
  13. There are a couple of issues: 1. Have u been doing this before, if Yes then you need to look at what worked and what didnt. If it is NO then you need to look at training Load and diet. 2. Diet-go to a proper dietician that knows sports people, like at the Sports Clinic. Not someone who is used to weaning fat people off KFC. 3. Rest and by that I mean get enough sleep. 4. Training Load and intensity- u need to look at waht has changed in ur programme recently and adapt. Finally Glutamine and Whey. Dont know much about Glutamine but familiar with whey. Whey is Ok, but proper Whey not the USN etc crap get Solgar if you want to go with Whey, ur kidneys will thank you.
  14. Yeah @Crack I feel your pain with the Chicken pieces, I have even asked the Aunties at the Bryanston Organic Market to maybe do chicken pieces. If everyone knew what crap is pumped into animals to get them ready for slaughter and in our food then they will understand why we have such "special requirements" (read full of **** to some).
  15. Crack the thing with the organic stuff is that it goes off very quickly because it has little if any preservatives, not sure if use other organic products but the bananas last 3 days and the veg also goes quick. If you ever wanna have a compelling reason to go organic read FAST Food nation or watch Food Inc. Oh yeah and Organic wine is great-very little if any sulfites-so no kopseer or feeling below par the next day.
  16. Snap @ Crack(le) -woolworths organic peanut butter is the shizzle and none of the bad stuff to worry about, I eat it with LOwGI Seadloaf or Rye Bread. Have u ever had Nutella and Toasted Rye Bread now that's nice!
  17. Song is called: Kings and Queens
  18. Firstly the chance that you got flu from swimming is very small if at all. Secondly look at your training, have u been upping the intensity, distance or a big race etc? Then yes you are at risk and so are we all, so what do u do, firstly nutrition-eat properly, bacteria loves sugar and other crap. Also make sure that you take some immune boosters etc and by that I mean proper stuff not the synthesized nonsense that is out there. For my resistance and just to keep the body able to fight off any attack I use Solgar Advanced Multibiion Diophilus and recently AIM Probiotic. Then drink Citricidal and you have an immune booster of note. But the key is proper nutrition and supplementation.
  19. Used Veet, but find that it looses it's effectiveness after it is opened. As to where u stop, I stop waist height but on the outside only, the inside I stop just below the crotch. Reason is that if u are gonna spill chances are quite big that u will land on your outer leg side and most probably between hip and knee area.
  20. Para hoe kan jy so gullible wees? They should have dropped your premium not sent u a shirt that probably cost them R250 and now ur advertising fot them as well.
  21. Not only their quality but the technology, that's why I prefer Rudy's
  22. @George Gericke try Troisports at Chili Lane in Sunninghill. Mark or Werner-both very knowledgeable Get the Triathlon Bible by Joe Friel, he wrote the Mtb Bible.Read up on it and start. Set a goal, like 70.3, Global 11 or Xterra and train for that. Kit is a personal thing-you must decide and try it out, best is start with Tri-pants and a singlet. Re your BSG Tri-it's a bit of a gemors with everyone and ousus having a go. 600m will be tuff if u havent trained and the washing machine start might make it challenging. But hey go there have a bash and dont take it to serious.
  23. Yeah Ricco get's it again-could not have happened to a nicer guy.
  24. Very general question but it can be: Wrong setup: Bike and Cleats Overuse Old Injury flaring up Muscle imbalance-like 1 part of your quad is stronger. You are asking a bunch of non-medical people a medical question. What I would do is go see a Biokenitist or a dr that knows sport-NOT the GP whose understanding of sport is going to the game at Loftus with the Voltaren rep, but someone who knows and has experience with Sportspeople. That way they can work together the DR, Bio and Physio to get you back. I had bad tendinitis and the bio and physio who helped me made me glad I did not go to a GP.
