  3. I have both the 800 and 705 but i prefer the 705, the only thing i dont like on the 705 is the calorie calc but thats no biggie for me.
  4. Finish Line cycles Glen Marais, speak to Clint.
  5. Buycycle have a Volcan carbon 29'er frame R12000.00
  6. For the price of around R12000 you could get the Mecury 2, better shock and 10spd. Looking forward to seeing the 2012 Silverback range as my LBS reckons they will be stunning.
  7. My helmet has saved my pip 3 x. I do not buy this idea that if i'm wearing a helmet i feel more immune and take more risks. The last time my pip was saved was when bikejackers lobbed a paving stone on my head to prevent me fighting back, helmet took most of the blow saving me a crushed skull or at the very least a nasty headache.
  8. I've ordered the 26 Kwela frame, Now i got to find parts for it
  9. I know the East Rand is flat but If my Garmin reading on Sportstrack is to believed i clocked 800km in 14.26 min with an ave of 3,328 km/h and zero ascent/descent on my MTB Sunday Morning Home KP return 66.65 3:12:24 20.8 173.1 -186.5 Monday Afternoon Home KP return 800.63 0:14:26 3,328.2 0.0 0.0
  10. Dont be to sure that they will use SAS, Racetec have a monopoly on certain races. Why is it that ONLY races timed by Racetec are used for seeding in races such as Argus and 94.7.
  11. Spectra
  12. Specialized Allez
  13. Modanine
  14. Not sure if the guy handed himself in or if he was traced after but IMO it sets a precedent, next time you have had too much to drink and are involved in an accident where someone is injured or worse killed, speed off sleep it off then when you are traced most you will get is a light suspended sentence as opposed to a harsher one if you found to be over.
  15. My Louis Garneau road shoes are going on 6 years.
  16. My Rudy's have just been delivered to my office Now looking forward to testing them out this weekend
  17. Yeah Dr Geroge (he really has a doctorate,i think in engineering) is very good. His shop display appears a bit cluttered when you walk in but he has a good tech work area. One of the best wheel builders in SA he often gets wheels in from other bike shops to repair.
  18. I see ASG are involved in the Jacaranda Satellite classic.
  19. Mrs Cyclingfans Peltor Smart 100 photochromic glasses which she was selling for R295, they not cycling specific but i have found them very good for MTB rides I'm awaiting delivery of the Rudy Project photochromic glasses which ASG had advertized.
  20. When i ride solo i try include a route that passes his shop and pop in for coffee and if i am lucky there is sometimes pizza. His shop has a good selection of bikes and he has built up a loyal support base with customers from near and far.
  21. Snap i bought my bikes from Clint there as well
  22. What size you looking for
  23. quote name='peterg' timestamp='1311679469' post='1452868'] Thanks for the reply! Is that new? When you say specced? Are those specs I put together or is it just what comes with the bike (sorry, i really don't know much about this!) New , bike is specced as is, even comes with MTB pedals whereas others tend to have flat pedals Weight is 12.7kg but can be reduced as and when you want to replace with lighter parts.
  24. For around R12000 you should be able to get a 2011 DS Silverback Mecury 2, well specced with mix SLX/XT parts fox rear shock and RS Reba front fork. http://silverbacklab.com/2011/mercury_2.jpg
