  1. Bike shop is struggling to get cranks part's but i've prepared my Scott in case (spent a whole 5 min squirting oil at it yesterday) Looking fwd to it.
  2. CGT is only applicable if you make more than a mil profit on a property you sell' date=' and if you dont re-invest that money into property straight away... you making a mil on every property u sell? [/quote'] I wish.
  3. Catch 22 here, not as black and white but the idea is to save however even with the added interest paid on investment it is still lopsided on the short side when taking into account higher prices for goods bought. And if you save money the tax man wants a slice over a certain amount, invest in property and the taxman hits you with capital gains.
  4. Current petrol price and interest rates are having a huge negative effect on car sales soooo if you're in the market for a new car (like me) Toyota Kempton Park are having a deal where you can buy selected cars and get a free scooter or motor bike.
  5. Wheels, rather use this email theory on bike shops
  6. A good few years back PnP ventured into the price cutting petrol market, but was forced by the goverment to stop. Even today with everyone else still getting their cut e.g Gvt, producers, suppliers, taxman etc PnP maintain they can still sell petrol cheaper through inititiaves such as Self Help pumps but the gov and unions refuse to accept this.
  7. Looks like the email was manufactured by Sasol to push up their sales. This will only work for unregulated items, petrol and diesel is regulated by the Gvt so Caletx would not be able to just lower their price to make sales.
  8. Nice and i'm certain BigH will also approve.
  9. When i took up riding again i went to the bike store. The salesman asked what bike i was interested in and i said blue. How he kept a straight face i dont know.
  10. Madmarc when cyclist behave like that, the driver lumps all cyclists into a box and the next cyclist he sees gets it.
  11. The guy was probably just seething with anger and frustration when he wrote it. I find the best way to deal with angry drivers is just smile and wave( open hand, not middle finger).
  12. Except for the last sentence , Dave is right on the money.
  13. Ian the bike shop must fix, but if its not ready in time i'll probably still go but ride my MTB and make it a leisurley ride, as i have paid for accomodation, transport etc already.
  14. Bike's injured at the moment so might not make it.
  15. Easton wheels are bullet proof and at your hubby's weight would be ideal. Read what reviews are on it. http://www.roadbikereview.com/cat/wheels/wheelsets/PLS_2490_690crx.aspx
  16. On rides lasting up to 4 hours i just take an energy bar and some jelly babies maybe a banana. Anything longer i take along sandwiches or fruit cake.
  17. Perhaps Michael Rasmussin is doing a similiar thing hoping people wont recognize his name and so he can sneak in rides.
  18. Sounds like hell, which brings religion into the topic again.
  19. Odds on this post is shut down shortly
  20. I object to the Avatar, its demeaning to cats.
  21. Came across this group of riders Ibanzi are an informal group of mountainbikers who ride in the area of Olivedale, Jukskei Park, Northgate, Douglesdale and Johannesburg North, We ride as much as possible, offroad, however in the suburbs this mostly means on the pavement, (sidewalks). We ride weekday afternoons and all are welcome, the pace is always at that of the slowest rider. The theory is to get out at least twice a week on weekday late afternoons and ride for about an hour, typically from 5:00 till 6:00. We meet at the shopping center opposite Olivedale clinic at 4:45 outside Woolworths. Safe and Social iBanzi is not a club, there are no fees, no committee, chairman or meetings. It is merely a group of social riders in a geographical area who like to get out and about on the bike. The mailing list is used to organise rides and for general chitchat. Anyone can call a ride, just post a message on the mailing list. http://www.ibanzi.za.net/Welcome.html
  22. Had the same with my 520, replaced the button without any questions. The begining of the year the battery went flat so when i went to the Argus i took it with and handed it in thinking i would only collect it back in Jhb. Not only did they do the replacement there but also replaced my watch strap n/c.
