  8. Eish Wakefield: Stormers robbed by ref! Cape Town - Western Province Rugby Union president Thelo Wakefield is upset with the way Stuart Berry refereed the Lions v Stormers Super Rugby match in Johannesburg this past weekend. The Lions won an epic encounter 29-22 but it appears the Stormers were not happy with Berry’s performance, especially his policing of the breakdown area. Wakefield took to Facebook after the game, expressing his disappointment: “I really cannot describe the atmosphere in the change room. Sadness. Disappointment, Robbed!!! We remain gracious in defeat. I have never so sad. Have good night’s rest ‘Man in the middle’.” Then, in an interview with the Cape Times on Sunday, Wakefield said referees should be made more accountable for their actions. He said referees are "better protected that rhino". Wakefield, who was previously the Stormers and WP team manager and then deputy president of the WP Rugby union, was first elected as president in 2012. In December last year he was re-elected unopposed at the union’s 24th annual general council meeting. He will serve in his final term for the next three years. http://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/SuperRugby/wakefield-stormers-robbed-by-ref-20160418

  10. I had a scottie that used to swim, loved jumping in and fetching tennis balls. When it was hot he used to climb on the first step and walk up and down, all that was showing above water was his head.

  17. Pity riders disappeared when the rain fell, it did not rain long and settled the dust nicely. One thing odd was the first lap there was a log wood ramp you could go over or around, but 2nd lap it was not there.
  18. Echo that, and thanks BCC for the venue The timing guys did lose a lap of mine but no sweat, decent goodie bag, T shirt and winning a laser printer as a lucky draw (thanks Arrow Stationers ) more than made up for it. Generally well organized, easy flowing trail (except for section along the fence which hurt as the laps increased ), ample parking, free juice and coffee for riders (thanks Pro Cycles ) and good vibe. Good to see Wendel on the bike again after his recent illness.
