  1. Completed mine, SARS owes me around R500.00 which will just about cover my 947 entry.
  2. Get a government tender, that will beat any investment.
  3. "Normal" people take it easier as they get older.
  4. World rugby awards, Team, coach and player of the year. TOKYO - South Africa flanker Pieter-Steph du Toit was named World Rugby Player of the Year on Sunday as the World Cup-winning Springboks swept the main awards. Rassie Erasmus won coach of the year and South Africa also took the team award at a glittering ceremony in Tokyo, a day after they lifted the Webb Ellis Cup for the third time. https://ewn.co.za/2019/11/04/du-toit-player-of-year-as-springboks-sweep-world-rugby-awards
  5. Rassie Erasmus is set to step down after the Rugby World Cup. https://www.iol.co.za/sport/rugby/springboks/rassie-to-step-down-as-springbok-coach-36382125
  6. As expected “NUM is angered with Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan’s decision to go ahead with the unbundling of Eskom,” the union said in a statement on Wednesday. It made demands including that officials abandon the plan to split Eskom and cancel power purchase agreements with independent power producers. “If these demands are not met we will shut down electricity generation, transmission and distribution, as such plunging the country into darkness,” the statement said. https://ewn.co.za/2019/10/30/num-threatens-more-power-cuts-over-eskom-split
  7. Hard hitting and honest. Tells it like she sees is it without all the PC niceties including shedding the bloated staff complement. https://www.sowetanlive.co.za/news/south-africa/2019-10-30-eskom-board-member-slams-interference-says-there-should-be-load-shedding/
  8. Last person over the line in just over 6 hours, that's vasbyt.
  9. Road race results are out. http://www.racetec.co.za/featured/
  10. 3rd place in 60km is a youngster I sometimes ride with. Last year he came 3rd in the 34km distance.
  11. I was close to the start on my road bike, then decided after my comment and avoid any physical harm to me to put safety first and hightail out of there.
  12. Is there a bike park like last year.
  13. Spacers on a cluster are there for a reason.
  14. Best year in a while, save for getting a cold a few times. Usually I get whatever strains of flu are going around which end in complications and lengthy periods of no riding.
  15. LoL moment of madness comment on my part. Having been involved ( if fixing potholes, painting warnings at dodgy sections and been route marshal counts) previously with your race i should have known better.
  16. The fact that there's free flowing traffic through robots, stop signs etc, a seeding race for CTCT and 947 then beer and boerrie rolls at the end which I will not get with otherwise. #hopethatanswersyourquestion.
  17. Following on from been prepared on the Amashova thread, if the wind continues like it does today would switching to an e-bike count.
  18. Road seeding is out.
  19. I'll take my smack like a man.
  20. Sorry Frosty that came across as harsh, I know its well organized and entry fees go to good cause. I am doing the road race though.
  21. Nah, not doing it. I ride the trails regularly enough for free using my own water and supplements. Not sure if Carnival charge for hosting it but race cant cost much, except for having metro on hand for the road cross over from Carnival to Dalpark, timing (I can time myself), medals (don't need, don't want) throw in a couple of WP's with coke, energade or water, the trails are all open and can be ridden anytime.
  22. You should be fine, the trails are flat and fast with no technical sections.
  23. Write up. Winner Dusty Day lives up to his name with helmet hair. https://citizen.co.za/news/2193826/cyclists-tackle-joburgs-new-gravel-fondo-bike-race/
  24. Not a comment you would expect from someone who is tasked to steer the ship. At a media briefing yesterday to explain why load shedding has returned and what Eskom plans to do about it, Mabuza responded to a question on whether he is the right person for his job by explaining that he didn’t apply for it and was there due to the decisions of President Cyril Ramaphosa and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan. “Am I the right person? I would have applied for the job if I had the qualifications and I wanted it. I didn’t apply for this. South Africans and the president and the minister must make the call,” he said. https://citizen.co.za/news/south-africa/load-shedding/2193152/eff-calls-for-admittedly-clueless-mabuza-to-go/
