  1. You can take a medium or you could get away with a large
  2. So basically the slowest gear of a 2x9 will be between the 2nd and 3rd slowest gears of a 3x9 and the fastest 2x9 gear will be between the fastest and 2nd fastest 3x9 gear
  3. I'm running 29-42 with a 11-34 casette. If you're not riding lots of steep long hills then you can get away with 11-32 Check out the chart below. The one colour give all the gears for 22-32-44 and 11-32 casette and the other the gears for 29-42 and 11-34 casette.
  4. I thought your pedals looked out of place. Why not some eggbeaters. Then it would be 9.4kg
  5. No, everything stays the same if you get a double crankset. You only change the limit screws on the fd.
  6. Was a size 20 spanner, but I can't come up with a witty name right now.
  7. Just a thread with some homemade tools for emergencies. Last saterday afternoon I needed to replace my casette before the Sunday race. So here's my chainwhip stewie9112010-06-01 10:43:21
  8. So here's the results. The whole inner lining is loose. The top picture is of the tyre turned inside outstewie9112010-06-01 10:36:44
  9. I've also wondered. Maybe some bikes are better balanced that others
  10. Easy Mampara. Proper lube - What you prefer. Ask your bikeshop to recommend one. (What I like about a wax based dry lube is that you can touch them and your hands won't be all black.) - Shouldn't have said that
  11. Nice Tarmac. That looks like aerozine cranks. Which ones are you using and how big is the rings for the 29er
  12. Use whatever you like. Sunlight/diesel/clean green The more important part is to properly lube afterworths
  13. I opened it yesterday and parts of the inner layer has come lose. Will post pics tomorrow night. I doubt a bottom-out happened, as I run my tyres at 2.5bar and I weigh around 69kg.
  14. sign up for the isuzu 3 towers. Heard it's good. I'm doing it this year
  15. Well done. I set up my gears according to sram guide that comes with it and it is always silky smooth. I don't even take it for a testdrive afterworths. Bikeshops is suppose to do this, but they don't always get it right.
  16. R330 vat inc from crc Locally I think they cost around R550. For me crc is better. I mean, what's the chances of a defect tyre anyways. And we go through a few tyres a year.
  17. Will have a look at OKO. Now, the question is what do I do with my front tyre? Throw out the stans and use OKO or throw out the tyre. I don't want that happening during a race or ride
  18. So, it's a throw away? And I can't blame anyone but myself
  19. I quickly went back to the bike and the tyre has a bigger twist and has a bump towards the outside. I deflated it to about 1bar, because I'm afraid it will burst.
  20. NOt exhaust or photoshop. Tyre was just fine 2 days ago and I didn't touch the bike from then
  21. Don't know - Tyre seemed to have same pressure as sunday. How do I fix it. I did unflate it and it seemed fine, but when I inflated again, it got back to this.
  22. Also heard that, but I thought stans was the one without amonia, which is obviously wrong, cause I checked 1 min ago.
  23. Delamination is my fear yes. Only time will tell.
  24. Tyre still has plenty of life left. Will open it up when I have time, to see what goes on on the inside. Luckily I have a mountain king to put on.
