  1. What's the condition of the XTR wheels and what's their weight. (If zork don't want them)
  2. Wanted to try new lube for some time now. Couple of questions: I use dry wax based squirt at the moment on my mtb and road during winter and summer(wet) conditions. For what conditions can chain L be used? What I like about the wax based dry lube is that I can touch the chain without getting black chain marks on my hands. How is chain L? CanI use chain L on my derailleur etc?
  3. Ok, on to the rims. What's the best way to treat the rims with to improve the braking surface?
  4. Have u ever heard of cable rub? Destroying your frame, your pretty carbon frame. My gear and brake cables almost rubbed through my fork on my cervelo before I realised it and got some frame patches.
  5. I just asked for some clear stickers, and it's pretty thick as well.
  6. A while ago someone was looking for frame patches and me as well. Warning: Don't buy the expensive ones from who-ever with the logos and stuff on if you want something plain and simple AND cheap. I bought this from a motorbike shop. It's 2 cheets and it only cost me R180. Anyone wanna buy a sheet from me for R90
  7. We were in the same class in High School. I remember when he got his first set of drums, it wasn't long before he could play almost anything and he is self learned.
  8. Got the newsletter on my work email and personal email. Don't mind it though. It's only if they send a few mails a day that I'll get upset
  9. mmm, cold air. Your core temp will drop from the cold air and your body will use up energy to try and warm itself and so you'll lose energy. - my opinion
  10. Ek het daai torque wrench gekoop. Werk baie lekker en gebruik dit baie op die carbon fietse. I also bought this bb tool: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=10179 Been able to use it on shimano hollowtech II bb, my aerozine bb and truvativ GXP bb.
  11. What is the significance of fork stanchion diameter? I see a lot of guys asking the diameter, but why does it matter?
  12. Maybe it will wear faster that way. If it gets a bit dirty it could get stuck and even if it's stuck for just a second, it will start to wear uneven and it will just get worse and worse. But if it works for the downhill bikes, why wouldn't it here?
  13. Cassie, you surely are not from GP. Just this weekend 5 guys were robbed from their bikes while out riding. Although a lot of bikes get stolen from homes, so does a lot while out riding, even in groups.
  14. Now that I think about it, I actually like the bushes. No grease to worry about, which also makes them easy to clean. Just throw them into a degreaser/thinners/etc.
  15. Still on hijack: What's wrong with the bushes? I cleaned my campag record rd this weekend and found that both wheels uses bushes.
  16. Hi and welcome. Normal home insurance doesn't cover your bike when you are out riding. You need to add your bike under all risks. We currently don't have any tracking devices for bikes, but some guys are working getting such devices. For the emergency locater, you can try cellphone tracking. I think Tracker has such a service.
  17. The kcnc are known to NOT last very long.
  18. Have you ever heard of bone-loss? You need to do strength training. I don't believe in high reps low weights. For muscle to grow - they need to tear. I do a 20-30 min full body weight training session 2/3 times per week using heavy weights where I can do a max of 10 reps. With that I do core training, which is important. 2 sets per core muscle group(upper abs, lower abs, obliques, transverse abdominis and lower back)
  19. I'd love to commute, but two reasons: 1. No shower at work 2. 30km from work and I'll have to do it on mtb/hybrid means that I have to ride alone in the dark, which is just stupid up here in GP. (In the summer, I'd be able to commute once or twice a week)
  20. Limit screws won't cause the gears to jump. Maybe just the biggest and smallest cogs, but not the rest. If your gears are set up correctly and they still jump, then one of the above mentioned reasons is the problem.
  21. Hulle moes twee keer af buk om die box op te tel en vir jou te gee >> R25x2 = R50
  22. Awesome. Twice the taste, zero the calories
  23. Cycling will def help your running. It's cross training. Anyway, I'd also like a runners section. I were using the forums from runnersworld before I became a cyclist, but the hub is much more active, so now I'm only on thehub
