  1. Agreed time is secondary in these events the most important thing is to finish, its a long hard day out and so many things can and do go wrong. Just get over the finish line and enjoy the moment.
  2. I think the other way around double it and deduct 1 hour

    Ride for Sight

Great event, thanks to everyone involved.
  4. Results have been taken down again lol
  5. Got to admit I've mostly only seen tourists riding around there and never any cycle clubs, but then again I'm never in Soweto in the early morning or on weekends
  6. I do
  7. I will be at IronMan 2012 and I thought I was a bit nuts to do it so soon after the IronMan 70.3 but mrmed has outdone us all
  8. Wow those bars look low, going to be really hard on the back of your neck and very difficult to see where you are going - might work for a short guy but I think the taller guys will have a bit of a problem with this one.
  9. Something to consider - you will receive more benefit from purchasing a TT Helmet and riding your road bike with that on your lid than you will by purchasing a TT bike and riding with a road helmet on your lid. If I remember correctly the TT Bike will only show you an advantage at a speed of over 28km/ph anything less than that you are better off on your road bike. If you are not in the TT position and are sitting up you are better off on your road bike. Your first purchase should be a TT helmet before you get the TT bike. But all this would only apply once you start with the non draft legal tri where you are able to ride a TT bike.
  10. mmmmm maybe you guys should check to see which residents work at Waltons or CNA and start there. So many thumb tacks they must be getting a bulk discount from their suppliers. Anyways the thumb tack in the picture looks like one which would be used in furniture or leather work of some sorts, not sure you can purchase those at your local stationery store.
  11. Hi Richard - they are a product available from Amway, I buy mine via one the of Network 21 channel partners. Unfortunately it is not a product which you can just get off the shelf but once you belong to the channel they get delivered to you.
  12. Good Luck at 70.3 I stood with a friend of mine for 2 hours whilst the Suunto guy explained everything. Got back to the guest house and nothing worked. Bottom line in my opinion is the watch is way to complicated - in fact so complicated not even Suunto can get it to work
  13. You don't need to do anything - you can always drop down without a problem
  14. To be on the safe side if this is only your second race I would recommend that you NOT ride VA. I think you should rather fall back to a D or E group start and enjoy it there
  15. @wanna-be When you entered this race you entered in the category of Licensed Vets. In future enter in Open Seeded and you will be seeded according to your seeding of 37. The better your time is in comparison to the winning time the better your seeding will get. In other words that 37 will continue to drop. The lower the seeding number the higher your start bunch. For Example a 37 seeding should get you a start in around E Group whereas a 15 seeding will get you a start in A group. Hope this makes sense and helps a bit
  16. Yes dark yellow = drink water - Light almost luminous yellow= excess Vitamin C or B
  17. Look no further than Double X expensive but well worth it - made by Nutrilite

@ Zatek Christoff van Heerden in 2H18 I think
  19. I have the same problem in that I have to sit down when I pee because the doctor told me that I was not allowed to lift anything heavy. Please note though that I saw a Doctor for my problem and not a Physio. Maybe go see a Doctor and get a clinical diagnoses rather than some guess work by a Physio.

  21. Why not contact Specialized in the USA - send them a mail and ask you have nothing to lose.
  22. If you go to the TSA website Fit Track have a link there which claim to have such programmes

IronMan rules state that no assistance whatsoever is allowed. You may hand a competitor a tube or whatever you like but you may not assist with the repair (you may only advise on how to repair), same applies to the tech support. There are no lines which need to be drawn. IronMan Tri is an individual sport end of story which treats all genders equally as the same rules apply across the board. There is no special treatment for anyone, it is not called IronMan for nothing. Had your friend read the rules or attended the race briefing she would have known she could not ask for assistance from the tech support, she would have known that it results in an immediate DQ.
  24. Follow my advice and you need never worry to find out
  25. Bit OT but here is the best cricketing sledge ever - Mark Waugh got it handed to him a few times. He missed a couple of opportunities to rather shut up James Ormond came out to bat and Mark Waugh from second slip says to him...how the f*&^ did you get a game for England, you are a no name..... James Ormond responds with...well at least I'm the best player in my family !
