Hmmm, after the new look XTR, you would think that XT would be "upgraded" too. I like the new XTR brake setup. I also hate the now old looking XT cranks. The new SLX look better. Surest way to make the current XT redundant is for you to buy it. Guaranteed, the new look XT will be out a week later!

Damn, that's a pain in the arse. Did you maybe pinch the tube when installing? I had that and the tire held pressure initially, but was always flat after an hour. Rear tire could have been a pinch flat. Are you running slime tubes? The slime also helps in finding the holes. Also, quality tubes are worth it. Tire liners also make the tires more resiliant. Best, got tubeless. Conversions work, but UST rims and tires seems like the best bet to me. Always a bit worried about non-UST's "pulling" off during hard corners.

Only done Sabie x once (2009) and the mud has traumatised me for life. Hated the Maxxis crossmark on the front. scared the hell out of me on the downhill single track. nearly killed myself against tree's on numerous occasions. Damn thing just wouldn't turn. Crashed at least 3 times due to front slipping. already decided on Mountain King 2.4 for the front (actually its not that big compared to other 2.4s) Rear, will likely go with Mountain King 2.2 rear. I recon they wont slow me down that much, but will stop me crashing as much as I did. Mud guard is just a must!!!!! most important

The MULE or HAWG is the business! If you are serious and want something that's good for multiday stage races or marathons. otherwise the ROGUE or LOBO work just fine for a good 80km out on the bike. as for taste, I've had no issue.
