  1. Maybe cyclists need to help our friendly Cradle Residents? If squatters move in then it won't be safe there!
  2. Great Specialized that! Great blonde as well!
  3. Nonsense. No bike shop will turn you away to have parts fitted. They will charge you and might not have if you bought the parts from them. If they do turn you away' date=' they should shut their doors because business is business.[/quote'] Where did I say they will "turn you away"? Nowhere! Of course they won't turn you away but they not going to be the happiest.
  4. Carbon frames are much stiffer than Aluminium frames and ride much better. I suppose it is a personal preference but I would prefer buying new as I then know the history of the frame/bike. Risk of buying second hand is that you don't always know what has happened to the frame before - crashes etc. It is fine buying the groupset from CWC but can you fit it yourself. I would think that bike shops are not going to be all that impressed if you show up with a box of parts bought elsewhere for them to assemble for you. You could contact a hubber called Kiwi. I believe he has some nice frames at reasonable prices.
  5. They were lucky it was you behind them and not some non-cyclist!
  6. Looks great!
  7. Sounds good' date=' but was it one of those once-off things in the area or are they planning on continuing it in the area? Is the message getting to the Argus-94.7 fun rider type riders as well as the more dedicated riders like the type found on the Hub? Just seems that there is little point in "preaching to the converted" so to speak.[/quote'] It is widely accepted that clubs are being very proactive in getting the message across, unfortunately members are not always listening to the message and sticking to the rules. The CGC campaign is aimed at both clubs and individual or small group riders. The campaign will certainly be an ongoing effort and as mentioned will be taken to other areas as well. Glad it is aimed at individual and small group riders as well. Of course there are club riders who don't listen nor abide by the rules but it is easier to get the message to them, unlike the indivudual small group riders. Glad to see an effort is being made to reach them as well.
  8. At least my pic has a place for roadies to ride and for mtb'ers to ride!
  9. Contador rode too fast for the camera! This makes me want to ride:http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01613/Cancellara-Boonen_1613809c.jpg

  11. Thanks for posting that IanJ. But probably the greatest number of "offenders" are not part of clubs or on the Hub. What plans are being made to educate those riders?
  12. A four day tour would be great. For both pros and non-pros. It could be like a normal race but four of them consecutively. There needs to be more multi-stage road events for non-pros like there are for mtb'ing. You will need the pro's involved to attract sponsorship and money for the event.
  13. Sure it wasn't your gardener or maid or someone who stole your watch and money? What support do you have for your version of the events in question?
  14. No problem Ray, I will definitely check it out! Thanks!
  15. I would go for the Easton EA90 SLX. I have the EA90 Aero wheelset. I really like the Easton hubs!
  16. Interesting. Cancellara's Specialized was also not the standard one. Team Sky used the Pinarello KOBH 60.1 instead of the Dogma 60.1. Apart from the racing I love seeing the equipment that the teams come up with at the Paris-Roubaix.
  17. Sounds like a great idea! I will definitely try a support it!
  18. It could be. When does it jump mostly, soon after the start of a hill?
  19. It could also be the way you shifting. I know when mine jumps it is the way I shifted at that time.
  20. Lance rode the Giro last year. Where are Colonel and Scotty now?
  21. I have the Edge 500. I use it for road but in the past I needed my Polar and a cycling computer to get the info I wanted the Edge 500 displays it all and more. You can customise the data fields on three pages and display just about anything. I am extremely happy with mine and would recommend it from a function point of view. And you probably wouldn't need any sensors unless you want cadence as it works with GPS. I have yet to try the feature (only got it on Easter Friday) but you can do a route and then ride against it I think.
  22. Haven't ridden Teak yet but Van Gaalens is fabulous!!
  23. Sounds good. Any idea on approximate prices?
  24. So now the English and the blacks are the enemy?
  25. Maybe he has a modified Commondale Lefty. But taken the lefty concept a bit further to include only a left handlebar as well.
