  1. Last year I did about 2:50 in Amashova and then about a 2:40 in 94.7. So using that as a rough guide you should be about 2:35.
  2. Then they wonder why the kid gets injured!
  3. A starting at 06:40.
  4. Bl***y Agents!!!!
  5. Thanks for that! Will check out his website. Thanks for letting us know that he finished and his time. That is a great achievement for him!
  6. I passed him on the middle section of the race on one of the hills. I agree with Kid, big up to him!
  7. I rode the Up Ride with the Standard Bank guys on the Saturday and had a fabulous time. Their two marshalls really did a great job and made the Up Ride safe. In the race on Sunday, I was dropped and riding on my own on the left when a small group came past me and even they shouted to me to keep left. It let me know that they were there and made it safe for all of us. At higher speeds there is no time to shout nicely, "Please keep left and let us through." You will only hear a quarter of the sentence and they will have passed you. By shouting for you to keep left they are letting you know that they are there and passing you. They passed me and I joined the back of their group. They saved my race. MaxUmis, it seems to me that you are just very bitter and had a bad race. As a result you are unreasonably using this Standard Bank group as a way to vent your anger. You had a bad, live with it and focus on the next race. The Standard Bank group did absolutely nothing wrong and actually made it safer by shouting when they passed you. If they hadn't you wouldn't have known that they there, you move across and you have a tremendous pile up that takes down many riders. Maybe you could also improve your bunch riding skills if you not comfortable riding in big bunches. Just a suggestion. Use it. Don't use it.
  8. That was so funny!!!! She immediately gets up and throws her bike at him before dropping like a ton of bricks. Then she gets up and stands on the trail, then sits on the trial! Would've been hilarious if another rider can and rammed into her then! Seems like she stopped to go over the root. The way she stands are throwing her bike is also very funny! Thanks for the laugh!
  9. What is next? Why don't we post pictures of people turning without indicating while driving, mothers letting there kids crawl all over the car while driving, people walking slowly in the middel of the walkways at shopping centres, people standing in the middle of an entrance/exit, people standing still blocking the escalators etc? You will never get everyone to do everything correctly. But what is needed is more tolerance! The cradle people need to be more tolerant of cyclists. Cyclists and motorists need to be more tolerant of each other. Everyone needs to be more tolerant of other/different groups. That is the root of most problems. Think what the world would be like if people were more tolerant.
  10. I suppose you also send emails/phone BMW, Audi, Ferrari etc when you see someone driving those cars and they cut in front of you without indicating or drive to fast and ask them to send a nice letter to everyone who drives their cars reminding them to obey all the rules of the road?
  11. I agree with Cosborne. The climbs make it lightweight wheels. Deep sections advantage is neutralised by the bunch and with the climbs it is best to keep the weight down.
  12. Route changes for some races make it more enjoyable. I wonder what the Schleck Brothers etc think of the Tour route that changes every year? I think it is fine if races like 94.7 keeps changing the route but then the other races must try stick to their routes. 94.7 and Argus are not races to do for time. They are different races. You do races like R4V, Carousel, Carnival City etc for time on the same course. The bigger races a bit of change is nice.
  13. I thought it was a good race and the organisation seemed quite good. I really enjoyed the uphill finish, something different and not much seen in SA races. Ultimately, and it is stated in numerous places, that it is the rider's responsibility to know the route. The marshalls just assist and make it easier as well as prevent cheating and short cuts but each rider should know the route.
  14. I can relate to that. Need to maybe put my foot down a bit as well. At least my gf wants to cycle but I will still need time to do my proper training.
  15. I love mine! I really like the customized data fields feature. Set my pages up for basic training, race (a bit more info) and one for intervals/laps. Much better than the Polar I used before.
  16. Time road shoes about 5 or 6 years which I now use for IDT. Sidi road shoes are about 3 years for on the road training and racing. Specialized MTB shoes almost 2 years old.
  17. Ag, it looks ok I suppose.
  18. Buy the frame you want in the SA colour scheme and then get it repainted. Problem solved.
  19. Who goes there after 20:00 anyway? I think the 05:00 opening may have a bigger impact on some riders though.
  20. I agree. Custom made and at great price as well. In December last year I upgraded my frame. On my shortlist was Time, Look and Specialized. I ended up getting the Specialized as it was just the best value for money. Top of the range for less money than a frame below the range topper from Time and Look. Taking into account everything it was for me the best choice! If money is no object then get a Dogma!
  21. None of them. Zuma is (DSTV radio advert).
  22. Ouch! Hope you heal up soon!
  23. Luke, are you the "Conti" of this thread? (Posting bad picture like Conti does on the Other thread)
