  3. It also depends on what the route is like. If it is flat then the group will stay together more. If there are many uphills and undulations then the group will not stay together and will need some points to regroup. It is not because you are x or y or whatever, it is because we all have different abilities when it comes to hills. Some can ride them and others can't. So the riders must meet at the top and wait for the others.
  4. Looks great Gummi!
  5. Congrats!!!! You are excused from not cycling!
  6. I do not believe that Bike Lanes will work very well in South Africa. In Europe they work well where everything is within a reasonable distance. If you look at what is in a 1km radius of a place in London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris etc there is a tremendous amount. 1km in South Africa there is hardly anything in comparision. Places are close by in those cities, not here. Commuters in those cities do not have far to travel compared to in SA.
  7. Big H: Ignorantia Juris non excusat = Ignorance of the law is no excuse. There are some no entry signs and other signage, although not adequate, indicating that it is a one way system.
  8. There isn't going to be a SWC because half the teams, and supporters, won't be able to get here, especially the Icelanders!!
  9. Lol' date=' surprised it took so long to get this answer! did something VERY stupid yesterday and rode an S works...10k not going to be enough![/quote'] Save, invest and add to it and soon you will have your very own S Works!
  10. Yes. Let the bike shop handle this one for you!
  11. That is partly correct Scotty. But I think you meant one attorney for transfer and bond. There are actually two registrations that go to deeds office as what we call "simuls". The actual transfer costs are not too bad, but the TD is the big blow. R500k - TD is R0. Transfer Fees (exc VAT) are R7.5K. R1m - TD is R25K. TF are R13.5K. R2m - TD is R105K. TF are R15K. R3m - TD is R185k. TF are R17.5K.
  12. If he did dope then he must face the music. Not good publicity for LA though.

    Boredom

Kieran should be studying and not playing on the Hub though!
  14. I have used my Poalr from about 2003. No problems and the servicing was good. Still got it but begining of April I got a Garmin Edge 500. My Polar only displayed my cadence, time and HR. I needed another cycle computer for speed and distance. With my Garmin I can see all that and more on one unit. I changed to the Garmin because of the possibility of getting a power meter within the next few months and it would be compatible with the Garmin.
  15. That sounds about right. Transfer duty is prescribed by the Guv-ment so attorneys can't do much about it. According the table I have Transfer Duty for a natural person on a property which has a value of between R1.2m and R1.4m is maximum of R57 000. Transfer fees (exc VAT) are about R13 500. Transfer Duty is calculated at 0% for the first R500 000, 5% on R500 001 up to R1 000 000 and 8% on R1 000 001 and up.
  16. Maybe cyclists need to help our friendly Cradle Residents? If squatters move in then it won't be safe there!
  17. Great Specialized that! Great blonde as well!
  18. Nonsense. No bike shop will turn you away to have parts fitted. They will charge you and might not have if you bought the parts from them. If they do turn you away' date=' they should shut their doors because business is business.[/quote'] Where did I say they will "turn you away"? Nowhere! Of course they won't turn you away but they not going to be the happiest.
  19. Carbon frames are much stiffer than Aluminium frames and ride much better. I suppose it is a personal preference but I would prefer buying new as I then know the history of the frame/bike. Risk of buying second hand is that you don't always know what has happened to the frame before - crashes etc. It is fine buying the groupset from CWC but can you fit it yourself. I would think that bike shops are not going to be all that impressed if you show up with a box of parts bought elsewhere for them to assemble for you. You could contact a hubber called Kiwi. I believe he has some nice frames at reasonable prices.
  20. They were lucky it was you behind them and not some non-cyclist!
  21. Looks great!
