  1. I'm entered! Really looking forward to this one.
  2. So I'm led to believe. Will confirm with someone here at work who told me originally.
  3. I heard about this on the weekend. Very sad when a woman (nurse) stops to provide assistance and is assumed to have hit the cyclist simply because her car is the only car on the scene.
  4. Joh joh joh! This is looking good!
  5. I better get my entry in! Sounds like a considerable challenge once again. I'm sure doing Oom Piets will be tougher than Greek church and Jou Blixem! Where are you guys finding the route profile?
  6. Yes! I received some one's 20km result. I also don't use the auto stop/start function and my official time is 6min slower than my Garmin.
  7. This race was far tougher than VG! The descents were as tough I thought and the climbs were insane! I had a feeling that the route organiser sort of ran out of areas for us to ride so simply looped us through that 4x4 track for ages. Sense of humour failure of note but I took my sachet of specially prepared "HTFU" and carried on. Well done to all finishers! Did anyone else have a discrepancy between their official time and their Garmin etc time? Not counting auto-stop/start and paused sections of course.
  8. That looks super! Would you be able to provide a photo of the clearance between the Fox arch and the tyre? If I like what I see I'll be doing the change before the year is out!
  9. That's it!
  10. It didn't show that last night ...
  11. Not working any more on Saturday Sorry guys. But as mentioned, from the looks of it the race isn't full. Still about 500 entries under capacity. Send an email, it won't hurt. With the new batches, I have moved from F to D to B (SASeeding of 39.04) . JCZA, I'll be on your tail buddy.
  12. I may have to work on Saturday now So I'll have my entry for you .... I'll keep you posted though.
  13. VG had most climbing in the first half and then had you suffer towards the finish on "Jou Blik%$#" with what little endurance you had left. Now to leave enough in the tank to do a proper job and not limp home.
  14. I believe so. They are the guys that got me thinking this originally.
  15. I'm interested in doing just that to my Superlight as well. Let me know if you hear of any interesting information regarding doing this.
  16. And after all that planning yesterday... Entries will crop up, it's certain.
  17. You're quite right. Roadie my foot! Haha.
  18. There was a goodie bag last time? I didn't get one. Only a size LARGE T-shirt and those who know me will have a laugh because I could use it as a dress! Maybe I should get to Paulshof come the day ....
  19. Seeding received. In the 70km I've moved from batch F to D. Not too bad I guess. See you guys there!
  20. I certainly hope it does! Those SASeeding guys must work chop chop and get it updated. Seeing as it is in the same area, I'm hoping that they keep the batches small. That being said, I guess that is only necessary if it's a race with a lot of ST and is more technical.
  21. Entered for the 70km. Hope it is as amazing and testing as VG.
  22. Haha, ja! They would have scared us all away had they put that little beast of a section out for us to try our hand at. Yip, that was me. With the ROAG jersey on. Where did we chat? At the cars?
  23. It all passed in such a blur. I'll latch onto more knowledgeable people if and when I want to explore that back section. Is it marked at all? The normal route that is.
  24. TrailSeeker 70km (66km) ridden in 3h47min. Battling with blisters on my palms from the unrelenting rocks on the descents. Thoroughly enjoyed the route AND drum roll please, the bridge is back in tip top shape! Loved the tracks! Now my question, how much of what was ridden on Saturday is open to me on my usual weekend visits? I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to the names of these routes, but after the concrete strips and we summitted, it was a quick down then left and back up the hill. Is that open normally?
  25. Luckily being midway down a hill with depressions on either side has meant our house has come out pretty much unscathed. Septic tank and french drain has collapsed though. I would have had a beautiful view of Salt Vlei (bulldozer in road with wooden walkway pic) in full flood.
