  1. That's a brilliant job. Started with me in C and put 14min into me! Ouch.
  2. The rumor mill has it that we won't have the WC next year. Australia most likely to take it off our hands because of the low spectator turnout at the event this year. Pity!
  3. That's terrible! Sorry for your loss! On a lighter note, did you cycle home?
  4. Any feedback available on your Vipa? Build components and weight?

  6. I'm flabbergasted at the gap between 1st and 2nd in the Elite Women's race!
  7. Great ride! Yes, there were bottle necks and some congestion but the course was great fun. The pace started high in c batch for the marathon. My time in the pain cave started early and there wasn't much light at the end of the tunnel until the finish. Feeling properly shattered now. Hope everyone else had fun!
  8. I wonder what it's like being down in the drops, railing the ST?
  9. Don't let me catch you
  10. Boss fast! Makes me wonder, will we have CX bikes at the race? Anyone brave enough?
  11. Marathon - Batch C
  12. Well done to all! Savage route with little time to recover. Great seeing everyone and even better that the majority of us managed to achieve our goal times . I think I'll upgrade to a full-sys for next year. My naught refused to be put on a bicycle seat this morning.
  13. Hi guys, Sean is a friend of mine from school days in Bloem. Sadly, he has not been receiving a tremendous amount of donations of late. The cycle is in aid of PETS, Pet Empowerment in Townships. There are prizes up for grabs as a thank you for your donation. If any of you are able to part with R50 as this month draws to a close, please donate. Sean is currently in Willowmore.
  14. Looks like I'll have to get a number to join the roadie train. The flying V formation would be appreciated up front chaps. Nerves are kicking in for the undulating second half, based on the route profile.
  15. Yip. Rode there last night. Park and ride.
  16. Yea, apologies about that. It was such a good course I couldn't resist.
  17. And don't forget about Mountain Splendour http://www.mountainsplendour.co.za/
  18. You really will not regret it! The riding is more than worth it! I'm salivating at the idea. Actually, you may regret it because after riding in that area, everything is simply bland. I suggest a B&B in Hilton which will give you quick and easy access to all but Karkloof and Giba. Karkloof will only be a 25 min drive though.
  19. If you're going for a long weekend, I'd go the extra distance and head to the Midlands/PMB. By long weekend I take it to mean either the Friday or Monday is taken as leave. With Karkloof, Cedara, Howick, Cascades and Giba all in a 45km radius of PMB, you really can't go wrong.
  20. Thanks for the valuable info. Schapenburg was high on the list, so you've potentially saved me there. Will think where else to ride on Saturday. I hear you about the late notice. Will see what comes of it.
  21. The plan is to ride Tokai on Friday because as you say, dropping off the runner puts me pretty close to Tokai. Looking at starting at 7:30. Shout if anyone is keen to join. Will try out Somerset West and Stellies on Saturday.
  22. Right, sorry for the take-over but I can't find much info using the search - never been a great Googler. I'm heading down CT way for the Two Oceans. Won't be running but significant other will be. While she is running, I want to explore the CT trails that I have heard so much about. Any advice? I'll be staying in Somerset West but able and willing to travel. I've heard Jonkershoek is great but you need to ride with a local to find the good stuff. Someone mentioned Schapenberg to me as well as Lourensford. What about Tokai? Any links and suggestions and starting points would be greatly appreciated.
