  1. Interested in chainring clearance. It looks to me that when pedals are level (parallel to the ground) the chainring is at it's lowest point. Anyone getting noticeably more strikes with logs and rocks? I know it's normally not a common problem but I am curious about it.
  2. Something I've done before is to attach the RD incorrectly. Meaning, I've left the little lock pin on the wrong side of the hanger, leaving the RD to pull too far forward. otherwise, I'm a bit stumped as to what is wrong.
  3. Ja, I remember the Zero29er. This one is set to follow the Zero650c geometry and style.
  4. Sweet pics! Perhaps a slight deviation. Can anyone confirm that Pyga will be bringing out a 29" HT carbon frame soon? I thought I overheard this being said at ACF last year but can't quite remember and can't find any info confirming this either.
  5. I agree on riding your bike. Pack light and use a rusk sack. She can't fetch you?
  6. Where do I start... R199 for the App. Not true. I was charged in Pounds 11.76. Yes yes, so it came out at R207.xx, which is much more than R199 but it's not the displayed price. Then you here of it costing anywhere from $19.99 to $24. What is the App like? Slow! Moving between the trails and provinces is like a test match. The screens do not load correctly. It must consume vast processing power as my S3 heats up significantly. Battery drops 10% in less than 10 minutes. In the end I'm disappointed in the product. Poor GUI. Something is very wrong with the code to consume so much battery power and use the processor to such an extent. One good thing is that the developers have realised something is wrong and are supposedly correcting a few things. I'm using the Android version and wonder if the Apple version is any better?
  7. I'll be down in PA from 22 Dec till 4 Jan. Looking at clocking some base miles in the early morning. Most likely ride out on the Southwell road (first right after Rosehill Mall) and round the back to Bathurst.
  8. 2014 Goals: Sub 4 hour Sabie Marathon Sub 2:40 94.7 3 Towers Race (The longer one) Try my hand at more road races Remain injury free!
  9. I was forced to take cover from the storm on the way home last night at Victory Park centre. I had a look at the flood water going under the bridge and from what I could see, the metal grid was still firmly in place. Granted, it was dark and the street lights did not throw much light on the raging stream.
  10. What a frame! Absolutely love the round tubing and it fits better with my small stature.
  11. http://www.birzman.com/products.php?src=prod&prod_sn=172 Supposed to have an airlock which prevents air loss .... Saw it at the African Cycle Fair recently.
  12. Wowzer! Crash of epic proportions by the sounds of it.
  13. Mental High 5 to the fairies! Looks like a super job! Thanks chaps.
  14. Hey, I noticed what looks like a carefully constructed cycle path going under the bridge at Victory Park Virgin Active this week. Is this in use as an alternative to crossing Rustenburg Road?
  15. Should be as smooth as the other two.
  16. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get hold of Nick Floros either. LinkedIn or Twitter are your best contact points I would guess.
  17. I was told over lunch today that for all major road races, the route is swept before the event. I cannot believe that this true.
  18. I wish would end NOW so I can get going! Can't wait!
  19. Any marathon entries up for grabs? Please let me know.
