  1. Don't even ask about the 240/50/16 that's on the Rocket
  2. I do both. Sometimes I want my own company other times I enjoy a group ride. Just depends on my mood.
  3. I started a similar thread awhile back. Different socks was one of the recommended fixes (amongst others)
  4. I don't think that with my unique physique weighing 100kg I am going to notice a 1kg difference in bike weight.
  5. Nice to know but I still won't trust my S21 Ultra on my handlebars
  6. I seem to recall that a phones camera does not do well when mounted on handlebars and it gets shaken around.
  7. So I take it you happy with the bike?
  8. A new gremlin has popped up with me. On longer rides of over 3 hours my right foot becomes rather hot, like fiery hot and causes discomfort. I use flat pedals and my shoes are probably about 4-5 years old. Could it be a simple matter of replacing my shoes with newer and better ones? Never had this before and this is a rather recent thing
  9. Out and about
  10. I do the same. The other day I had a guy behind me giving me sign language because I stopped when the robot was amber. Seemed to make him even angrier when I gave him the thumbs up and clapped my hands. If we can't even keep to the simple rules of the road, then the "thou shalt not kill or steal" rules stand no chance.
  11. Must of been such a epic trip.
  12. This is what I did with a 36T ring upfront
  13. As a driver you make a choice to drive when drunk. Your car becomes a weapon. Should be a murder charge
  14. Absolutely. Also Grand Black. Won't even think about it 😂
  15. Done Red Holstein quite awhile ago but that Forts Loop is proper tough. Awesome views but man it was the slowest ride I have done in ages.
  16. That downhill section is a hoot. The Forts Loop is also very scenic but goodness I nearly died a 100 times on that trail 2 weeks ago
  17. Yes, that section is best done with other riders. Give me a shout when you here. I am on leave from the 15th and will happily tag along if I am available. From River road back up to the start is pretty safe.
  18. Yep, Baakens River is safe. Just be carefull in the bottom sections. Crossways is safe and has a lot of trails.
  19. I also grew up in Welkom in the late 70's and early 80's. Not for the feint hearted 😂😂
  20. Built by a local PE guy. This bike is a absolute masterpiece. All aluminium panels are formed by hand and no body putty used. You want to see the exhaust systems that he builds. Got him to do me a quote for a exhaust for the Rocket. It would of have been awesome but way above my budget.
  21. Thank you but will the dropper seatpost not be a issue?
  22. My cycling buddy is looking for options to fit a second water bottle. His bikes frame rules out the Lezyne Holy Rail. He has a dropper post so that cancels a seatpost bottle mount. Camelbak has been tried and not liked. What other bike mounted options are there that we might have missed?
  23. Done this one in 2018. Even with all those hydration points it remains a pretty tough event.
  24. I have these in 29" on my MTB. Most of my riding is a mix of tar and gravel with the occasional venture into the Baakens Valley. Would I be able to fit gravel tyres to these rims? I should get better mileage from the tyres (I hope)
