  1. Yep also use my bicycle floor pump all the time on the bike. Don't trust the petrol station gauges and petrol jockey's.
  2. I changed my cassette and chain end of last year. Felt as if the gears where randomly changing. Had it checked and adjusted but problem persisted. Then I started taking note. When the gears slipped and felt like a random change it actually stayed in the same gear. What felt like the gears slipping or changing it was the freebody that was worn.
  3. Operator is his Wild Dog forum name
  4. Bikes parts are horrendously expensive. Depending on value of bike, I will always have comprehensive. Is your bike a dual purpose? If yes, there is a dude on Wild Dogs that does a seriously good comprehensive covers at a way lower premium than what you paying at the moment.
  5. The Buff is cool. If you stay in the campsite it is noisy. Bikes coming and going the whole time. Suzuki's having the crap revved out of them. Last Buffs I did we stayed off the campsite in a B&B. For me the ride to the rally is almost better than the rally. Lots of characters on the road and filling stations. We explored Mossel Bay and found some interesting books and crannies. When I am riding the bike, I don't drink so I am sober when in the campsite. Then drunk people irritate me. Different if we all drunk at the same time 😂. It is however something you need to experience at least once. Not mistaken the Swallows is not long after the Buff and closer to home for you. Apparently also a very nice rally.
  6. Lezyne
  7. Thank you.
  8. We had a incident this morning. 5 of us went for a breakfast ride. On the way home, my son and two others went ahead. I was on the Rocket chilling at the back with our neighbour on his Harley . Come round a bend and see cars and bikes stopped on the side of the road. I see only 2 bikes and with a sickening feeling realise my son's bike is not there. The emotions as I parked the bike and walked across the road not knowing what I was going to see is something I never want to experience again. Bike is pretty bent and son is alright. Bit stiff and bruised. Helmet and jacket moertoe. Total freak accident. There was a blind 90 degree turn to the right. Slow row of cars and he overtook. Fortuner in the middle of the row of cars then turned off the the road into the turn off and sideswiped him and he went flying. Fortunately did not see it happen as my wife would of totally lost it.
  9. Amazes me how some people can remember names of past classmates and even teachers. Me, I suffer from CRAFT. (Can't Remember A Fu#$ing Thing) 😂
  10. Thank you. It happened a longtime ago in 1996 when he was 27 years old.
  11. Not me. My brother killed himself while driving drunk.
  12. It is mind numbing how it makes power. No matter what the revs are or gear, twist that throttle and it just goes. It feels as though the power will never stop.
  13. There was a slight deviation from what was originally planned. Improved the sound no end and still keeps the Rocket look.
  14. We still talking about the original product? 😂
  15. I went with the Lezyne Mega XL. Had it for about 3-4 years now. The big screen works for me as I cannot see the display on the smaller devices and do not cycle with my reading glasses
  16. I am waiting for a quote for a custom exhaust for my Rocket. Cannot wait to hear the beast properly.
  17. The app Relive also works well. You can chose the mode of transport. Can also be used for cycling. What is nice is that if you take pics along the route, it will add them at the appropriate time. Download a 3D type video of your ride afterwards.
  18. Kap River nature reserve outside of Port Alfred.
  19. Will let you know when I am back.
  20. They do a fantastic milkshake.
  21. The lower bit of the Valley is not advisable by yourself. I am not in PE at the moment. How long you in Uitenhage for? I am back around the 3rd or 4th of January and will happily join you.
  22. Uitenhage is close enough to PE for a Baakens River ride. Start at the containers, drop down through the valley then along the beachfront to the lighthouse at Pine Lodge and back again.
  23. And the Crossways restaurant has Jack Black on tap. For me probably one of the best tap beers out there.
  24. She is a keeper 🙂
